It didnt seem like it considering the rehab he has done in Chicago he may not be ready to go today but I would have hoped he would have been by the start of the regular season. Not sure what else you can say but I figure it has something to do more with personal family matters? I mean its not a case of "he doesnt know the offense" I would think considering Coach Adeleman is entering his 3rd year as Rockets head coach. My way of thinking is that even if they plan to trade Tracy if he has been working hard and has made significant strides in his progress why not let him play a the few weeks (if he is 100%) to showcase him that he is "back" to raise his trade value? Because as of right now his stock really cant get much lower than it already is
How about there's a possibility that the Rockets will re-sign Tracy so they're being extremely cautious not to have him injured again?
did you see what happened last year DD? the rockets do NOT want that happen again for even one second. when tracy returns, they want him to be able to practice every practice, play every game (including b2b or 4 games in 5 nights) and play big minutes. i'm sure if this was last yr, the docs would let him play already. but last year has taught them to be overly cautious and just make sure 100% that when he's back, he's back on the court for good without any lingering doubt. but it's weird that they do set a "date." by that date, it would be 9 months post op.
It's a possibility that the Rockets will re-sign Tracy, but it's also a good possibility that the Rockets are protecting a major bargaining chip.
The end all be all is that the Rockets are going to wait until the team itself is solid before bringing in T-Mac. There is no reason to bring him in if Adelman is still trying to figure out how to put this team together. Everyone saw what happened last year when he was in and out of the lineup. The team wasn't gelling correctly. I'm not blaming Tracy for everything but he was a major part. T-Mac's contract has value right now. But his contract will have even higher value come January. Teams that are not performing at a high level are gonna look for cap relief. The NBA economy has affected several teams this year so far with ticket sells. So if T-Mac comes in playing good, they'll be able to get something done. He doesn't have to play great but if he can play in the system, someone will want to trade for him and sign him next offseason.
Tracy had minor microfracture surgery. I'm not a doctor but many players have came back within 7-9 month period. Greg Oden is a prime example of this. He had surgery I believe September 07 and was already playing pick up games in June/July 2008.
i just think last year's debacle is making the team and mcgrady overly cautious. mcgrady said himself he's ready to play if he had to.
I can bet money he would be ready now if he had to play. But he doesn't have to. They even want him to take it easy.
brooks being stronger means that he can drive to the basket alot easier, even though he will probably have prolblems with his shot at first.
