One of the GSW fans sites had a gamethread for Rockets - Celtics game last night. It's a thing unheard of as long as I follow sports boards. https://www.goldenstateofmind.com/2...le-2018-houston-rockets-vs-boston-celtics-abc
Narrative, Narrative, Narrative. People (non Rockets fans) who don't watch much of Rockets for whateva reason still have Harden as a floper, also all of his drawn fouls are BS fouls for whateva reason. Then they seem to have LeBron as a flooper as well, which is funny, these 2 guys are RELENTLESS going to the rim. But anyone who touched Kyrie or Curry is an automatic serial killer, these 2 guys flop more then Harden and Lebron combine, doubled and squared, but their game somehow labeled as cute so they could do no wrong, get use to this folks, the only cure to get Harden to top of the mountain is getting rings.
it’s hilarious how triggered people get by Harden drawing fouls, especially when the majority of them are clear and legit Where was this crying when AI was averaging 10-11 free throws a night? Where was this b*tching when Paul Pierce was getting 10+ trips to the line on a regular basis? Where was the hate for Gilbert Arenas and his constant parade to the free throw line? Boston kept reaching, but it’s Harden’s fault for “manufacturing fouls and flopping” oh, and this comment “Something that's not being considered in all this Rockets hype They’ve been playing with the volume cranked to 11 all year trying to show they’re better than GS and have (slightly) the best record to show for it. GS on the other hand has largely been playing at 60-70% of their abilities and are still better or tied at every meaningful statistic. Why this context isn’t being mentioned more by analysts is beyond me but it should actually terrify the league to know they haven’t seen anywhere near the Warriors best. Just because they’re not always showing it doesn’t mean it’s not there.” We stay on your team’s mind tho. We’ve dealt with a ton of injuries. Matter of fact, if Harden and especially CP3 didn’t miss so many games, we’d probably have a 3 or 4 game lead on the Warriors right now.
I really hate this. Golden State is only playing at 60-70%? And you know this...how? And, even if that was the case (it isn't) why wouldn't they turn on the other 30% when they lost several together and allowed us to take the #1 seed?
Thats not an excuse as much as it is a cop-out. I'd accept something like that for why they only beat the Hawks by 4, but not for losing to any other team when fully healthy, or even losing to some garbage teams (SAC, CHA) even when injured.
I liken this to the premise of Rocky 3. Rocky was the champ, and after beating Apollo Creed for the title, he lost his hunger and got complacent. While Clubber Lang (Mr. T) was training incredibly hard and staying hungry, Rocky was doing things at half speed and wasn’t focused on keeping his edge. When fight time arrived, Lang destroyed Rocky. That’s us. We (the Rockets) are Mr. T. It’s not our fault the Warriors are going at 60% or aren’t focused, or whatever. When the moment comes, it’s going to come back to bite them, and we’ll be ready to knock them out.
both teams have a lot of highly skilled pieces. GS undoubtedly more than us. but houston's sum of its parts seems greater to me for one reason. even though golden state's pieces theoretically fit seamlessly together for a well-oiled machine on both ends of the court, there seems something missing with that bunch this year. houston's group of harden/paul/tucker/ariza/ego are all very close friends. and capela is like their young protege. then you have nene/prince/anderson/green all likeable and easy going. last night we saw tucker diving on the floor all game long to save extra possessions for immediate passout to a teammate. capela got 18 rebounds -- half of which he had to actually go and snatch above the opponent. prince set a key improvised screen in the paint for harden to finally get an open layup in transition. meanwhile GS is composed of little fuking b****es like donkey, zaza, and kd....guys who only their mothers could possibly like. a certified jackass in swaggy pee. another close second in mcgee. an assortment of journeymen ringchasers only there for the ride. and the biggest douchebag coach in the association. iggy's fat off his payday now while klay's waiting for his. so the only guy on that team ever looking to pass first is donkey. while on houston everyone is looking out for each other on every play, even off the court standing up waving towels. the sacrifice on this squad is what makes them a dangerously viable threat to oakland
This is an excellent point, GSW might have more talented team, but Rockets have better team in terms of "TEAM", you could see people clearly like each other and help each other out, and not just on basketball court, hang out and etc. look at KD that dude has no clue half the time what he wants, except he is so power and fame hungry, i can't wait to see cracks in GSW, because once they have to pay Klay and Green they're in trouble and one of them (Klay most likely) going to leave, from there on out i can only see them getting worse, also Kerr being douche bag that just sets that bad tone of being jerk, and when you're jerk to every opponent, eventually you will be jerk to each other.
Last year, they had 3-4 players outside of Curry, Klay, and KD whom shot +30% from 3, Iggy, Clarke, Barnes and Green (kinda). This year, they have 4 players TOTAL who shoot +30% from 3, Curry, Thompson, Durant, and Young. Its far more of a star-driven offensive show than the "beautiful game" of years prior. Last year, they posted an SRS (adjusted point differential) of 11.35, good for 3rd all time, only behind the 1996 bulls (11.80), and the 1972 lakers (11.65). This year, they are merely posting an SRS of 8.60, good for 1st in the NBA, compared to our 8.51. I read somewhere that we are the better team when healthy, but we haven't been. So I'll reiterate, THEY HAVE ONLY 4 PLAYERS WHO CAN SHOOT AND THEY ARE STILL THE BEST TEAM IN THE NBA.
