This post has become an annual tradition here at ClutchCity.net.
Every year entering freshmen to UT post the same question.

In short: The only way to catch the Rockets games that aren't being broadcast on national TV is to order league pass. There is a Mr. Gatti's near Lamar that supposedly carries the Rockets games, but you should call first to make sure.

This year your in luck, because the Rockets have over 20 games on basic cable...hope this helps.

    Go Longhorns!

Haha, I asked the same question last year, I ended up not having enough time to watch the games anyway

    that's easy....the fox and hound!!!

it's on either 4th or 5th street. it's a huge sports bar that's got like 4 floors and millions of tv's. they usually show most (if not all) of the rockets games...they got nba tv i think. that place is a life saver! although this year i'm going to get the nba league pass so my lazyass doesn't have to leave the couch!

yes there is. I just graduated from UT. My friends are I used to go to a sports bar called Legends. It's inside of a Holiday Inn in the corner of mopac and 183. So go 183N, exit Capital Tx Highway. Make a U turn. Come back on the service road towards Mopac till you see Holiday Inn on your right side.

I asked the same question 4 years ago...ahh the good old days before my GPA went from a field goal to a safety to a techical free throw.

Showplace Lanes does cater to Rockets fans. I live in south Austin and the Warehouse Saloon (71 @ 35) is where I go and more than a few Rocket fans hang there. I've also found that the heckling by Spurs fans is a lot more playful than at Showplace.

While i was attending UT in austin, I always went to Ledgends Sports Bar. It is inside the Holiday Inn at 183 and Mopac.

If youre coming from campus. take Mopac north. take the 183 north ramp. after you go over the ramp, there will be an exit immediately after the ramp. exit onto the feeder (best buy should be on your right side). once you get to the first light, make a U-turn. stay on the right hand lane of the feeder road. make a right onto the first road you come upon (drive slowly bc the road comes up after about 50-60 yards). take the road towards Holiday Inn. Go into the first parking lot.

i know these directions are a little vague so look up ledgend's website or go on austin360.com

either of the Clicks Billiards gets the League Pass. I used to go to the one off of Oltorf when I lived in that part of town.

League Pass is the way to go. I'm getting in this year (that is if time warner doesn't screw up and give it to me free again this year).

Aha, never been to a bar before, or any of these sports bars. Seeing as how they are bars, do I gotta be 21 to go in, or could they just stamp me on my hand or something? I'm 19 by the way. I suppose I could get a fake I.D., but what with the new Patriot Acts, it's kinda scary to think of getting caught.
