Lets cut to the chase. Are any of these players a possibility through trade? If so when? McGrady Hughes Ratliff Jamison Olowakandi Taylor All of these guys would be a steal for us, I would have no problem giving up Mobley, Rogers, Williams, Drew, Massenburg, and Hamilton for any of them. I would like us to go after Mercer this offseason (he is a free agent I think). Can y'all imagine a team for the 2001-02 season (post dream) pg-Francis sg-Anderson sf-Mercer pf-Cato C-Olowakandi
Any trade for any of these players would have to include Mobley. Not sure about Ratliff or Olowakandi. I'd much rather have McGrady or Hughes out of any of these guys. But a backcourt of Hughes and Francis... hmmm... talk about explosive and ball-hungry. I like McGrady the most. ------------------ Rocket fuel pumps through these veins...
Call me crazy but I am not a Hughes fan nor a Mcgrady fan and what has Olawakandi shown except fo few things here and a few things there. I like Ratliff but Philadelphia was trying to get rid of him this offseason because of his knees or so said the rumor mill. I like some of Jamisons game but he is a wee bit undersized and personally I would like a 6-10 stud pwoer forawrd who has a brick like physique. I don't think that will come until Hakeem retires. I want more defense out of our powerforward. I like Taylor somewhat. He has tons of potential but I have never been a really huge fan. He is listed at 6-9 but seems a tad bit smaller to me. Call me old fashioned but I think defense is still going to win it for us. Also I heard the other day that Rudy expects the backcourt of Francis and Mobely to dominate for some time. That leads me to believe a move to the three for Anderson in the not so distant future. Maybe as soon as next season.
Let's remember, to get a quality player you have to give up something in return. Mobley has game but he still isn't a starter. Same goes for Drew. WW's value has plumeted this season. thomas Hamilton is just lucky not to be on IR. True we might be able to get someone decent for WW,Drew,Rogers, Mobley. But who would do it? That's four guys out of our 8 man rotation. Assuming we could get a SF, that would leave Bullard, KT,T-Mass,Hamilton coming off the bench. Why does everyone always think trade? Im starting to like the team we have.
I also like what we have. Any trades would have to leave Bryce Drew out. YOu all know that Rudy T loves this guy and wouldn't trade him same with Hakeem. Also Bryce Drew is a good role model I read a good article on him and will post it up on the board tommarow. I say get a good draft pick, get some free agents and do some trades. People to trade -Walt Williams (he is slumping) -Carlos Rogers -Kelvin Cato (can't rebound that good -Cuttino Mobley (is awsome, but we need to give up some people. -Thomas Hamilton -Matt Bullard Out of all those. I say Walt Williams sign Matt Maloney back and trade them for Antwan Jamison! The Warriors already want Maloney.
Wow i cant believe someone wanted to field cato and olowakandi at the same time. I bet they want to take that one back. Good call on mcgrady at the top of that list.
Kurt Thomas would be a possibility. Right now he plays for Seattle, and he is pretty much their only veteran. He could possibly be seeking a trade. He is a free agent at the end of the season, and plays for a struggling team. I would send rafer and either head or snyder to get him.
Whereas an experienced veteran like you, with your vast 4-5 months of ClutchFans knowledge to draw upon, "thought you should comment" on an 8-year-old thread?!? Why would anyone here care what anyone else thinks about a thread almost a decade old??
this thread makes me feel old. please stop pulling up old threads, they make me cry, not about the rockets, just memories
people please read the title, then date, then the original post before you start rambling your ideas.
