I couldn't agree more. Especially with Van Gundy.

Cat, Nick Van Excel, Turkolu.... there are a lot of pretty decent players that miss the first round. I'm hoping for some one like Nick, a bad reputation with solid skills, turn out to be just a guy who wanted to have fun.

I agree, there are many good players who slip to the second round of the draft.

Nashbar is where we should look for help on guard position first. I hope JVG can find some use out of him.

Hedo Turkogle was selected #16 overall. A second round gem comes along once every five years (Mobley, Van Exel, Rodman), we can not expect to find anything but bench fodder unless we trade up.

I would rather move up into the mid to late first round and take 6'8 PG/SG Boris Diaw. He is a better defender than Reece Gaines. And he's bigger and more athletic than Planinic.

Taking Perkins or PG Blake w/the second sounds good to me.

Anyone hear anything about PF DeAngelo Collins? The guy was never drafted after declaring out of high school. Was Amare's main rival.

What about Arenas and Micheal Redd? Both were taken in the 2nd round. How about Manu being the next to the last pick along wth Jaric in the 2nd rd. With the flood of international players, team must scout players who slide into the 2nd rd who have 1st rd talent. Thats whats so good about the draft now. There will be some very good players who will slide into the 2nd rd becaus eof teams taking all these guys with potential in the 1st. Once you get honed in on certain players that might be in the 2nd rd, you always want to check the work ethic. Arenas and Redd were known for being gym rats and having a great work ethic. Once the were drafted in the 2nd rd, many people weren't suprised that they wouldbe good players. Its becoming more frequent that players in the 2nd rd makinf and becoming good players.
