After reading yesterday that Rockets tickets were still available at the link provided, I immediately clicked on the website to purchase a ticket. I entered "best seat available". To my disbelief, for $150 I could get section 5, row 1, seat 1. Not that I could afford this seat, but I thought this is once in a lifetime opportunity for me to see a game in the front row! Seeing there was a time limit for the purchase I immediately found my credit card and made the purchase. I was so excited all day, I took off from work early and got to the arena for the pregame party. When the arena opened at 5:30 I entered and went to find my seat. As the arena filled I was slowly losing sight of the floor. All I could see were people standing in front of my seat. I re-assured myself that everything would be ok once the game started. Everyone from cops to ushers to lurkers congrigated at the corner I was in. Once the game started people got out of the way except I still didn't have a clear view of the floor because of the 4 rows of folding chairs in front. I was upset that the Rockets would even sell this seat, let alone for $150 without some warning "obstructed view". I chose to move to a higher seat knowing it would probably have its rightfull owner show up. Twice I moved and had to move again...that wasn't so bad except the owners of these seats look at me like they caught me stealing from them. Unhappy, I went to "customer service" by the main entrance hoping they could find me an "unowned" seat for the second half. The first guy I talked to looked at my ticket and said "oh yes, we know there is a problem with that seat". He sent me to another lady at the same table. Her response was she also knows about the problem with that seat. I told her they need to stop selling that seat without a warning attached. She said they will keep selling that seat. She also did nothing to solve my problem! Discouraged, I decided to go home and watch the rest of the game...I could see everything and nobody kicked me out of my seat. Since this wasted $150 is all I could afford for the next 10 years worth of Rockets games, I will never get the opportunity to see another one in person. Moral of the story....before purchasing tickets from the Rockets, you better know where the seat is. Second, don't count on the Rockets customer service to help if you need something.
yes, I should have stood the entire game...that would have proven my point! I probably would have been escorted out of the place after a couple of minutes. In my previous post I said section 5, it was actually section 105, row 1, seat 1.
