How often do yall visit rockets.com and what do u think of it, content-wise and such? I remember reading that its been #2 in traffic for the past few seasons, which I was kind of surprised by...I think the articles are getting much better and more in-depth, but thats my opinion...what do yall think, and how would u rate it compared to other sports sites?
It's pretty worthless to me unless it involves some news or interviews about new players. About 95% of it is marketing hype urging you to buy, buy, buy...
well - all of us are comparing it to ClutchFans.net and well... nuff said. it is held back by the rules that govern the NBA - here, we can do what ever, speak whatever, and do what we love to do which is speculate on trades and trash/hype players. If you designed the website for your company could you speculate on hiring competition? firing employees? talk so much trash and love without shaking the corporate ladder? it does provide some pretty good video - its just a lousy design and is updated way to little.
good points jd3...it is restricted...however, I remember a year back when it was HORRIBLE and was updated hardly...now it has little segments such as rockets.com explains it all and rockets.com asks, as well as its always quick and up to date with signings and such...i was just wondering what yalls opinion of it was...i feel its grown a lot within the past year or so...
they aren't as up-to-date as clutchfans..which is why clutchfans is good enough for me to not even visit rockets.com...but i have to admit..the interviews with the new players signing of stro and DA were very nice..
Since they were the #1 most visited site last yr theyre gonna try to be a better site and so far looks like thats working with the Q&A sessions and all.
OK! Ya'll have talked me into taking another look at it. I've been spoiled here & haven't been to rockets.com in years.
In fact, i really enjoy the Clutch the Bear section, the vids there are just hilarious, and i always look forward to the update of Ask Clutch, it's silly and funny man
Hey Shooter your doing a great job keeping the homepage updated with material and its greatly appreciated. Could we bring back the postgame quotes section? how about highlight videos? good stuff. way better than last year J
I don't go to rockets.com ever. I used to stop by occasionally, but there's really no point. If you want Rocket news, this is the site for it.
Well of course rockets.com has been #2 in traffic for the past few seasons. Have you heard about this guy named Yao Ming. I doubt 2 billion Chinese people are looking at the Utah Jazz website. The site has improved but I don't have much use for it.
you know what would make the site scream? is creating its own articles and news stories which it looks like has happened. commentary / quotes / special articles about what the players are doing during the off season etc. would be interesting to put on there. come on shooter make it happen! QA w/ CD would be cool. J *dite (just a hunch shooter sounds like he works on the site)
Huh? Did I miss something. When did Shooter1583 say anything about being involved with the Rockets website.
Looking at Rockets.com objectively, DoD hit it. Most of the site is just marketing. Buy the merchandise, buy the ticket plan. Understanable, but at the same time for the "hard core" fan it is worthless. Rockets.com needs to be completely reorganized. It is WAY too cluttered now. It needs a brand new redesign. It needs to expand to 1024 resolution. It needs to have better Rockets content. The recent "video interviews" we have gotten is EXACTLY the type of content they need more of. Video Interviews, Player Interviews....just more information. Get behind the scenes of stuff. Give us that type of content. And the surround the site with the marketing hoopla. Remember, "content is king."
of the NBA.com sites that I like, I have to give it to the Magic's site last season, it had highlights right in the middle of selling the ticket plans. I would suggest more post-game highlights that visitors could download and send via email, a "Send to a friend" link or something, that would be cool! Clutchfans has great content, don't misunderstand me, but we can't get inside the rockets like the OFFICIAL site can, so that's what they need to provide, more depth into the ROCKETS! Video tour of Toyota w/ TMac; How was Yao's trip to China; Rocket's offseason videos! Whoever is in charge of the budget for rockets.com needs to increase spending! Get it done! Then it can become the #1 visited site (who does #2 work for )
