The Rockets are fine with what they have right now. Battier,Snyder,Novak, V-Span and Lucas is a good offseason and will make this team better in all areas. Stop being pessimists and get excited about this team. Go Rockets!!!
You are correct but the dilema is how are we going to get it. We have only the trade exception and Luther Haed as people of tradeable value and that is about it. The first thing Houston needs to do is identify with the team they have who is starting where and what type of team they want to be. Battier at the four is an option but I think we should look at potential better options. I said before Za Za Pachulia is available not an All Star but a specialist at getting rebounds something this team needs big time. Atlatna just signed Lorenzon Wright I really think Za Za could be had easily with our trade exception and this would be a good move whether Battier is our PF or not. Honorable mention: For the money Francisco Elson is a very effective player and for his money I think would have been a good signing. Another area of need is the for a starting two guard, but this depends on if people feel TMAC is a SG or not. I think if he is he is a defensive liability but it will really help him on offense because he'll have a height advantage and as a result of being on the perimter more a lesser chance of getting injured, but if he is a SF and Battier is our PF then we definitely need more than V-Span or Kirk Snyder who I think is trade bait although good trade bait for the price. To be honest I like Bionzi Wells but too greedy and not him on him for 82 games regular season. A two that I think could start for us and be good for his money a James Posey, Fred Jones would have been nice and Morris Peterson to name a few. These are guys that at one point caould been had during the regular or this offseason and are worth their contracts.
This Rocket team is fine as is. We made solid to good additions and it is going to put us right back in the top 4 or 5 in the western conference. Also to some people who asked the question is Houston truely top 4 or 5 look at this. 1.spurs 2.Mavs 3.Suns 4.Rockets 5.Clippers 6.Lakers 7.Kings 8.Hornets the remainders are 9.Jazz 10.Nuggets 11.Warriors 12.Grizzlies 13.Sonics. The grizz lost to much to be back in the playoffs. The Hornets improved so the will take the Spot of the Nuggets. Finally when Houston is healthy they can beat the Clippers,Lakers,Kings,Jazz,Warriors, Sonics and Grizzlies. Houston always has problems with the Hornets but that won't hurt where they finally end up in the west. So as you can see Houston is clearly a 4th or 5th seed its just a matter of how good the Clippers are this coming season. Even if the Clippetrs are good Houston beat them twice last season and almost won a 3rd...all that with one of the worst lineups in Rocket history. Go Rockets!!!
