Saw this thread on another board and got to thinking, "Who would be the Rockets all-time team?" Do you put the best players, or the best unit? Do you include all players, or do they have to have a certain number of games (which might omit someone like Pippen)? My team: C- Hakeem Olajuwon PF- Otis Thorpe SF- Tracy McGrady SG- Clyde Drexler PG- John Lucas Reserves: Yao Ming Moses Malone Rudy Tomjanovich Charles Barkley Robert Horry Sam Cassell Calvin Murphy Left off Pippen and Rick Barry only because I felt they had to have played at least more than 1 season with the team; otherwise, definitely would have put Barry on there.
Elvin Hayes should be starting PF, not Otis. Elvin's rookie averages: 28.4 points/game & 17.1 rebounds/game
Too many offensive players. Love Elvin Hayes, probably should go on the team instead of Horry, but I just like this combo.
I say they have to have played at least 2 seasons with the team. Here's mine: PG--John Lucas SG-- Clyde Drexler SF--Tracy McGrady PF--Moses Malone C--Hakeem Olajuwon My 5 off the bench: PG--Steve Francis SG--Calvin Murphy SF--Mario Elie PF- Rudy Tomjanovich C--Yao Ming
Here's mine: PG-- Moochie Norris SG-- Matt Maloney SF-- Scottie Pippen PF-- RyBo C-- hm nobody really pops into mind??

OK. obviously you didn't watch enough Houston Rockets basketball. Let me give you a hint on who you left out.
OTIS THORPE LED US TO A CHAMPIONSHIP 50% from the field. plus he was a co captain and Dream trusted him. HEART OF CHAMPION.
How dare you put Ralph and Vernon on the bench!!! Go back to the D&D and talk your non-important political babble!! The Rockets are sacred and the legends will not be desecrated!!
this is the only important list: PG Sam Cassell / Kenny Smith SG Vernon Maxwell / Clyde Drexler PF Otis Thorpe / Charles Barkley SF Robert Horry / Mario Elie C Hakeem / Ralph Sampson Yao, Steve Francis and Tmac have NOT BROUGHT us Glory. Until then, they aren't on the all time list. I dont care how many All star appearances. Charles Barkley finally allowed us to take revenge on the nemesis Sonics. Ralph Sampson helped destroy the Laker dyntasy of the 80s. Leaving Michael Cooper sprawling on the floor wondering what train ran over them. Everyone else on my list brought the Rockets GLORY. When Tmac and Yao and whomever bring us the Championship glory, then they arent all time SQUAT.
