After failed negotiations in which Spurs coach Gregg Popovich blamed Jackson's agent for wanting the Spurs to pay the guard more money than the team was willing to, the guard's days in a Spurs uniform appear over.

"Jack will not be here," Popovich said. "The chances of that are very slim."

"We would have been in a situation as the summer progressed to either lose him or have to pay him over-ridiculously." Popovich added, "Neither of which is a good option because if we had lost him late in the summmer, these trades and these things that we're doing now would not have existed."

Niether Jackson or his agent will comment on the negotiations. The Denver Nuggets and Houston Rockets have shown interest in Jackson, but neither team has extended a written offer.

I don't really know why we would want Jackson. We already have Cat, Steve and Pike getting minutes at shooting guard. It seems a stretch to me because he wants more than the minimum and because honestly, he is not that good a player

Jackson can play the 3, he's 6-7, has good three point range and decent D. He's from houston as well. if he's availble for the right price i think we should get him.
