Even when YM goes down with an injury, ROX still have TMac to carry the team. What's the chance both getting injured at the same time? But correct me if I'm wrong. TMac missed few games last season because of funerals.
Injury is part of the game. Duncan also missed a lot of games last season. His so-called supporting cast actually is very underrated. They even had a higher winning percentage without Duncan.
... Do you want the statistical chance of it happening or something? I mean, what does this thread have to do with risk management?
That's why getting a guy like Barry is so important. Even if Yao is hurt, or struggling, or out because of foul trouble the Rockets would be able to run a line-up out there of Barry, McGrady, Howard, Jackson and a fill-in at center and a credible bench. The Rockets could still win at a high clip without the big man in there like San Antonio and Sacramento and teams like that do. How many times were we dead in the water when Yao had a bad game? Steve and Cat would occasionally step up, but the team never showed me that if one was gone (Yao or Steve) that the team would find a way to win. One guy out and the team just went into the tank and got their @sses-whipped.
I think the FA market is pretty much done for the ROX. And Brent Barry is likely to sign with the Spurs if Ginoboli ends up in Denver. Good and bad. The ROX hasn't gotten anyone from this weak FA market.
