Ridnour solution?

It's easy to take apart each guy on this team piece by piece. I think Morey did a great job getting talent in the offseason. His idea was, if nothing else, he'd have pieces to trade in January and February. This is where his job gets hard. DM and RA have to make some hard decisions. I think Shane spreads the floor with his shooting but his style doesn't fit RA's offense. Either does Chuck.. Yao... or TMac's style. So here's what you have to figure out. Are you going to find guys who fit Adelman's system better or are you going to make Adelman change it around a little so this offense fits the team? Tmac and Yao aren't going anywhere. It's the same problem the Lakers have with Kobe. You'll never get value back.

So what would I do if I was DM? Ridnour is not a great 3 pt shooter but everything he does fits RA's offense. He's very similar to Bibby. Seattle has him on the block. They can't keep Earl, Ridnour and Delonte. Luke has never shot below 40%. He loves the uptempo offense. You can't give them Rafer or Mike because they wouldn't want the contracts so you give them Steve along with 4 mill in other contracts (such as Luther/Snyder or Luther/ Bonzi) plus the 1st rd pick. You give them salary relief with expiring contracts plus a 1st rd pick. Once I get Ridnour, I make a major change in the lineup. I start James and Scola. Ridnour is a legit point who can set up the offense. Our starting lineup gets more speed and isn't just a halfcourt offense. It also gives us the option of slowing down with Tracy and Yao. We give up defense but at least the offense can get in a rhythm early in the game. Then you have different ways to go at the end of the game with either Shane or Chuck on the floor for defense (especially valuable in the playoffs). Next I'd make Aaron Brooks a big part of the rotation off the bench but you always have Rafer available if AB can't handle it. If Mike James isn't getting it done, you can always move Shane back in or even Snyder, if he's not part of the deal. I also love Andre Miller. He's a better leader and a better defender but I see Luke fitting better in a RA system. Plus, Luke is younger and cheaper. I think either guy would be a major upgrade because they shoot over 40% and they make good decisions with the ball. Cassell would be perfect because he provides the leadership we need but he's falling apart at the seams. We also blew about 2 million opportunities over the years to get D.Fish who's a no-brainer perfect fit, a winner and a leader.

What do you people think? What is your solution? Point guard is the obvious answer. You need somebody with heart, leadership, and most importantly ability. We are all aware of the points out west and you can't go into a gunfight with a slingshot. Most importantly, I'm sick and tired of Tracy being wasted as a pseudo point guard.

according to my friend who lives in seattle (well actually he just moved to maui, but anyways...), ridnour is garbage. he repeated that on multiple occasions over the past 2 years or so.

Great coaches find a way to win with what they have. They maximize their personnel. The kind of coach that requires a specific roster type is a specialist and is not worthy of coaching a team that is as dedicating to winning as Les Alexander.

When i worked for the Sonics two years ago, i watched every single home game they played up-close and personal. All I can say is Ridnour is NOT garbage but he's no elite guard either. He has a better offensive game than Rafer (not saying too much) but he's lacks aggressiveness on defense. He can drive the lane and sometimes make those impossible looking layups. He shoots the mid-range jumper somewhat consistently. But he lacks aggressiveness and can easily get overpowered by the top guards like Parker, Davis, and Deron Williams.

However, i REALLY liked Earl Watson from two years ago. Although he came off the bench, he provided the kind of spark and aggressiveness that Mike James USED TO have before he just gave up on caring. I don't know how Watson is today. Maybe he lost a step. But if this was two years ago, I would definitely give Watson the nod than Ridnour.

I have liked him for a long time, he is better than any PG currently in the Rockets rotation.

Lets just snag Darius Washington from the Spurs. They seem to like giving away premium players for nothing! LOL
