Nice hair do though "I realized a while back that I have an innate ability to be compassionate," he told the San Francisco Chronicle, "and I saw that the strength of compassion is something that healers have and healers use." Esquire had a great article on him. The writer tracked him down and hung out with him in Australia. Mostly did nothing but smoke pot. Grow up, Ricky.
I thought the same, must be a Longhorn thing. I wonder when Ced Benson is gonna ditch the dreads and go with the Campbell / Fred Sanford look.
Thats the first thing I thought when I saw that photo. He idolizes Earl right? If so, maybe he doesn't want to end up like him.
Choosing not to play football, save some of the wear and tear on your body and enjoy your millions is a sad waste of talent?
....don´t laugh, but this ricky pic reminds me a lot of michael dickerson.... btw: i´m still very sad, dickersn had to quit so early
Good for him if he's doing something that makes him happy and doesn't hurt other people. The fact that he wants to help people makes it even better. The only thing that's pissed me off about the whole Ricky thing was the timing of his retirement. I couldn't care less how it affects the Dolphins as an organization, however. The NFL doesn't care when you get cut, why should players care when they retire? It only pisses me off because it screwed his teammates.
Yeah thats the only thing about his retirement... so I can understand the players feeling shafted and in hindsight, he probably should have given them enough notice before the season started or retire after this season... but anybody pissed off at him because he screwed up their fantasy rosters, office polls, let "football nation" down, is acting like a child, etc, etc needs to get a life... I commend the man for turning his back on the money and fame because he got tired of it and is trying to do something he truly wants to do. It's his damn life...so let him live it.
