No link, I saw it on the ESPN Bottomline White to the DL with strained oblique, no word on who will take his roster spot
I said lineup about Pence as in sending someone down who is a position player. Bring Patton up and let him start send Sampson/Albers to the pen. My track record on this team so far this season is better than yours.
Your track record is unquestioned... I'm really losing sleep at night over losing Willy Taveras and his .604 OPS.
your boy Jennings is a bad ass!!! on the dl while Pettitte and Hirsh are tearing it up and Willy T is coming off a 5 hit game and he can play a heck of a lot better CF than Chris "poor man's Ryan Freel" Burke
Some people may be surprised by this, very surprised. Nah nah nah track record? What ****ing track record? Are you 12?
Pop quiz: Who has a lower ERA this season, Jennings or Hirsh? That's what I thought. Err, wait a minute... Jennings is completely worthless now because he had to go on the DL for a couple weeks. Oswalt went on the DL last season himself; I guess he's garbage too. How much do you think we'd have to offer with Oswalt to get Hirsh back? Willy's OPS for the season is .604. No 5-hit game can sugarcoat that. Offensively, he's a terrible player, the same as he always was.
Chris Burke 540ops=huge stud Should of moved Burke/Ensberg/Lidge when we had a chance to those guys. That group is garbage. Bring Pence up, get Biggio his 3000 hit then start Loretta at 2nd Pence in CF and Burke can go back to being a bench player with decent speed. These two changes would upgrade this team, also what the **** was Garner doing last night not telling Ensberg to bunt over the runner at 2nd with no outs? Also having Berkman, Loretta, Everret and Pence out in the field would allow the stros to play Lamb at third since you would be average to above average at the other positions.
Mike Lamb is awful at 3B. You've got to be kidding, if you think that he's the answer there. And since you place so much emphasis on this season's statistics, Ensberg was hitting .293 coming into the game yesterday. He's not going to be replaced at 3rd for any length of time by Lamb, it just won't happen.
When did I say Mike Lamb was the answer? Neither of these guys should be starting at third for a contender but Ensberg is one of the most inconsistant players I have ever seen and my point is we have to work with what we have and if we can sure up the other positions than we can afford to play Lamb over Ensberg at third when Morgan goes through his periods where he looks like a minor league hitter.
Chris Burke has a .540 OPS? Can you show me that? It's absolutely delusional to think Loretta is a better offensive player than Burke. Sorry to have to break that to you. (EDIT: before anyone posts his average this season, I'll remind everyone that baseball seasons typically last longer than 21 games.)
Mark Loretta 2006 OPS: .706 Chris Burke 2006 OPS: .765 When you consider that Loretta is 35 and on the downside of his career, while Burke is 27 and on the upside of his, it's clear Burke is the better hitter and it's not really much of a debate.
It's 644, that is what happens when you take some idiots word on 610 radio. Loretta is better than Burke, Chris could be better but at no point has shown me that he is.
So having a .765 OPS last season compared to Loretta's .706 isn't showing that he's better? What does he need to do to show he's better? Give us a number.
They do, so let's go back to last season. Between Jennings and Hirsh, who had an ERA in the 3s, and who had an ERA in the 6s?
lets all put our dongs back in our pants and quit the pissing contest. who cares how accurate your predictions are?
