Here's a e-mail I got today from gay brother-in-law in Austin (you know gay people have their own underground information network) Thought we'd give you a little juicy Texas gossip. . .According to reliable sources, Rick Perry, our big-haired Governor, got caught by his wife Linda in bed with our newly appointed MALE Attorney General IN THE GOVERNOR'S MANSION ! This town is going crazy. . . .A docent at the Mansion called this morning to say they have posted signs that tours of the Mansion have been temporarily cancelled due to construction. . .when in fact it's because Linda has moved out and taken all their stuff !!!!!!!!! Reportedly she will file for divorce today! We had hoped the rumored affair was with David Dewhurst, our homophobic Lieutenant Governor, so closely alligned with Tom DeLay ! But one out of two ain't bad ! Will keep you posted !!!!! Of course he also told me unequivocably Sandra Bullock was gay too, so....
I didn't mean anything serious by posting this, maybe it should have gone in Hangout. I just sorta enjoyed the whole outrageous nature of it.
Rick's wife is Anita (as in A-nita to find a good divorce lawyer) Linda Perry is the lesbian singer/songwriter from 4 Non Blondes. Even if this story is true I don't expect it to see the light of day. The RNC will find a way to squash it.
Perry with another man? I find that hard to believe. Now if it were with a sheep, then that would make more sense. I mean he is an Aggie, after all...
I could only find weblogs mentioning this and no news sources. The main reason it is coming up is there are rumors going around that his wife is going to divorce him.
This is fun, if Matt Drudge doesn't pick up on it, he has to stop b****ing about the media and their crazy/"responsible" actions of not just stating rumors about Kerry without some proof.
I've been aware of this story for several days and struggled with whether I should post anything about it, since it's still at the rumor stage. However judging from the level of discussion on a number of Austin and Texas based blogs, the capital is all abuzz with speculation. This is a serious question. What do people think the ethics are of posting information like this on a BBS, even when clearly identifying it as rumor?
Matt "Sure, I go to gay bars and go on dates with men but am not gay" Drudge doesn't like to out closeted gay republicans for glass house purposes.
Ethics don't count on Friday! Fridays are for fun, salacious or otherwise. You know, I posted the rumor for reasons that had nothing do with Rick Perry. I meant to poke fun at the rumor mill (OK, the gay rumor mill, but not in a mean spirited way)
For whatever it's worth, most of the blogs etc that have posted this rumor aren't gay-related websites, or at least don't seem to be, and the identity of Rick's alleged Mystery Man is not the Attorney General but rumored to be the Secretary of State.
