I'm watching the 6th game Boston vs Jersey, and this guy looks amazing, very confident, agile, and in the 2nd quarter he is truly the team leader.....Did we made a mistake by trading him? Can he play the SF position...?
las summer was the worst offseason ive seen. we should have let ALL of our fa's go. sign webber. draft #13 jefferson, #18 haywood, #23 tinsley. last years line-up should have been: cato-haywood-coller webber-kt-Tmo jefferson-walt-langhi cat-os wink-tinsley-brown
Richard Jefferson one day, if he plays hard, and progresses, might be a lesser version of Doug Christie. Eddie will be a star. Its a no brainer decision - decent player vs Star.
Dude...i think Richard Jefferson is tha bomb. I think he'll top out at about 17 points 6 bounds a game...his size reminds me of Caron Butler...but doesn't really have that Paul Pierce attitude that Caron has (the will to win...go at all costs to score)...all in all, above-average NBA player. I hope E-Money will be great. A star? I dunno...hopefully a couple of all-star selections. I'm hoping for 18,7,and 2.5 (blocks) outta him eventually. IMO, both teams got exactly what they needed in the trade...we didn't need 3 1st round contracts...and the Nets added to become a very deep team to help them get where they are now.
Jefferson is a punk and Griffin will prove to be the greater player. NOBODY HATES ON THE ROCKETS!!!!!! NOBODY!!!!! You got that Richie?!
I agree with you about Webber. He was there for the taking but Rudy would rather sign Moochie and Mo Taylor than get a proven superstar. Hopefully getting Odom or drafting Ming will make me forget about that.
I was about to say the same thing. Jefferson is a f*cking punk. I wouldn't have him for a sack of ****.
Jefferson is a "f*cking punk" going to the Finals. The Rockets are a team with Griffin still developing.
I was thinking the same thing, only my wrinkle is this, "Does EG wish he had been kept by the Nets?" Nets to the Finals, ba-bee! EG will be a great pro, but how about #13 Richard Jefferson, #18 Brendan Haywood, and #23 Tony Parker on the Rockets instead?
And they are going to get drilled by the West. *Yawn* - another exciting finals I guarandamntee that Griffin will have a more distinguished career and more "rings" than the punk, Jefferson.
Just like the Nets were supposed to lose to the Pacers, Hornets, and Celtics. Griffin might have more rings than Jefferson if Griffin gets traded from the Rockets.
All the credit in the world should goto the Nets for beating the teams they had to. They earned their trip to the finals. Now back to Jefferson.... Griffin has a higher ceiling and is bigger physically. Jefferson has played well for a rookie and will get better in the years to come but I see Griffin reaching higher and having a bigger impact in the long run. IMHO How many rings will they get??? Who knows?? I really do not consider number of rings a determining factor in who is the better player. Is Horace Grant a better PF than Karl Malone because he has more rings? As much as I hate Malone thats a no brainer. Malone may very well be the greatest PF ever ( I can not believe I just typed that )
I don't either, and I think Malone is the best PF ever too, but Manny used that as a point. Not a great one. Griffin does have the potential to be better, but a lot of potential is not reached (although I think Griffin will be better than Jefferson, and I was really happy for the Nets the hour they had him).
Don't remember any of the critics saying that. With Kidd and Martin, you guys have the requisite thugs to make it to the finals. EG could be a franchise player. Jefferson is a role player.
I was trying to be civil and give you the benefit of the doubt, but I should have known better. How in the hell were the Nets supposed to lose to the Celtics, Hornets, and Pacers?? They're the f*cking #1 seed in the East, genius...that means, duh, they're favored. We will see on who gets more rings...Jefferson or Griffin but I know one damn thing for sure...anybody who has the misfortune of playing on the sorryass Knicks team for the next 20 years or so will never even come close to sniffing a championship.
Jefferson will be a solid player. More than a role player, but not a star. Probably about 17 points 4 rebounds and 3 assists in his prime. Dr. Jack had Nets in 4, Hornets in 6, and Celtics in 7. So much for being favored. I also listened to the Radio a lot around here. Many people thought the Nets were going to lose.
Oh because Dr. Jack Ramsey said it, you take that as to be the gospel??? ROTFLMFAO!!!! Umm..I hate to break it to you, Knicks fan, but Dr. Jack is a senile old fart who doesn't have a clue of what he is talking about. I mean, come on, who would honestly think the Celtics, a team that has no players for the most part with playoff experience, is going to win a Game 7 on the road?? Bwhahahahahahahahaha
I hate Jack Ramsey too (huge ties with the Heat), but it wasn't just him, he's the only one that I can find on a site right now. Its not like the Nets had much playoff exp either, just Kidd and MacCulloch.
Whatever...everyone knows the Nets are at best a seventh seed in the west and would already have taken an early first round exit. Not that many people said New Jersey didn't have a chance. Most of the opinions I heard were more along the lines of, "the eastern conference is so crappy that any team could win it." Noone was really favoring the Nets like they were favoring the Lakers, so it did appear as if they were slighting them, when in fact there just wasn't any team good enough in the East to be declared as a clear-cut favorite. Just for the record, I've picked every winner except some Detroit over Toronto. I picked the Lakers to beat the Nets in the finals. I'd post a link to the original pre-playoff predictions, but I can't find it.
There has been an army of experts and fans predicting Nets losses each round. With Boston, it was because the Nets had no go-to guys and no one who could stop Pierce or Walker. For a *very* small sample, see: http://bbs.clutchcity.net/showthread.php?s=&threadid=33484 No one picked the Nets (although there was one "maybe"). In the Semis vs. Charlotte, it was about 50/50 http://bbs.clutchcity.net/showthread.php?s=&threadid=32969
