After hearing all about the first game and after reading all about how the game went i have come up with the conclusion that if rice isnt gona hit the open jumpers were dead we need Rice to avg about 20pts a game and be hitting those 3's consistently to make the playoffs wat do u all think???

    P.S.

The Rockets could make playoffs without Rice, but it would be a tough fight and they would get swept first rd. Langhi, Walt, Morris could possibly step up. Mobley could slide to the 3 or Rudy could slide Griff to SF giving the rockets an unusual double PF look.

    Rice can be compensated for.

The Rockets playoff chances rest on the center position...if a center plays the 5 position 40 mpg, they make playoffs semi-easily....if not, they're roadkill. Just need a big body to deny position to the opposing center.

i think 20 points a game is unrealistic. Francis and Mobley are both going to average around 20 a game. 3 twenty point scorers on the same, not to mention, perimeter players, is unheard of. I do agree however, that Rice's play is essential to our team's being successful. I would imagine 14 points a game with 45% F.G.% and 40% from the arc should get the work done.

If we can get 14 from Rice and 14 from Jackson, then it would benefit the Rockets more than getting all the points from the perimeter.

I expect Rice to be the leading scorer on the rockets. Francis and mobley will draw the defense to the strong side. A couple of passes and Rice hammers away from weakside.

I doubt the rockets will run the offense thru Rice. With the new rules, I see offenses having to make that one extra pass...in the rockets case, hopefully, to Rice.

Expect Francis's scoring to drop to about 18.7 and his assists to jump over 8.

    Houstone,

you must be Clutch's pet....or your cookies log you in everytime you open up the bbs. What that has to do with Rice or die...I don't know?

Rice has to score a lot to take the pressure off from Francis and Mobley,if we get M.Jackson it would help us out,but the absence of a 3rd scorer like Mo Taylor is going to be felt.
I'm worried about Rice's injury he still hasn't been able to practice at all. It's going to take him time to get going.

Rice, Francis, aND mOBLEY ARE the top three scorers.....Jax is a good fourth option.....Mo will be a great 4th option next year.
