Does anyone else here think these guys are going to be traded. We have no room for KT. Moochie is in the dog house and I don't think franchise is really complaining about it. I think Rice's life spand is going down... so.. What do you think we could get for these 3 players?
I think we could do without Rice and Moochie but I really like KT and his quickness and How he hustles to the ball.
I dont think Rox'd get rid of KT. I think Rudy looks at him as another project. I really don't know what the heck reason why Nacbar has been in the bench. I think we need to give KT minutes to MoT if the matchup allows This guy has both the mental and physical parts of the game. KT can't even come close to MoT in the mental part. No one can deny when he was on the court, plays always got executed. He was really good setting up plays. If TMo lives up to his expectation, Moochie may end up somewhere. Rice has given enough chances to prove himself. And I guess we all agree that he could not longer contribute to Rox.
Get rid of Rice and Mooch if at all possible... KT is good, but dunno how well he fits on this team. Don't mind having him though, however if adding him in is the only way to get rid of Rice and Mooch, I'm all for it.
I like the guy's heart but he just seems too short to play the 4 and he really isn't doing all that great at the 3. We have Eddie continuing his growth and is crashing the boards like mad. Mo is coming back and looks good. I just see Kt has trade value and he really doesn't seem like he's too much into the rockets future. I think by trading him in a package with rice and mooche we might get a better "prospect" and give some more time to nachbar
What I was getting at, but more eloquently put. Also I wanna add that with TMo, Nachbar, and Hawkins, the 3 has enuf talent.
Rice I believe that it was mentioned in another thread that Rice has been given extra time to make or break his spot in the rotation. If he cannot continue to improve ( he has not played incredibly bad as of yet) then I think that Boki and\or Tmo will be given his minutes. Mooch Mooch's minutes have declined and may be a result of him not being sold on the new system in practice. Rudy is the kind of Coach that if a player performs the way he wants in practice, game time minutes will come your way. Mooch not may be good thing anyways since the rotation of Hawkins, Cat and Steve seem to be rolling along just fine. KT Provides quality depth and great hard-nosed attitude off the bench. Will he be satisfied with a bench role once MoT reclaims a starting position...only time will tell.
Rice is Flotsam moochie is nearing the Flotsam Level KT is a keeper. I'm not willing to part with something solid one the HOPE and WISH of some mythical POTENTIAL Until TMo, NachBar and to an extent MoT BRING IT EVERYNITE . . . I'll stick with KT Rocket River I see the POTENTIAL PIMPS HAVE RISEN FROM THE DEAD AGAIN This year's product. . . NACHBAR [Rocket River remembers how the POTENTIAL PIMPS talked about the greatness of Cato . . .. . . . ]
Cato/EG/Hawkins(or KT)/Cat/Wink Actually I wouldn't mind seeing our starting lineup to be that, and then come in with Yao/MoT/TMo for the frontcourt with Cat/Wink/Hawkins/Maddox rotating in the backcourt. Nachbar and KT taking up the rest of the minutes. Which means we do away with Rice and Mooch and even Collier... This also means KT's expendable if need be, though I wouldn't mind too much in keeping him. I think he could be a good off the bench player, but Dennis is right, will he be satisfied with being a bench player?? Hope so.
Obviously Rice and Mooch are the weak links of the team but will people please stop these damn trade Kenny threads? Please. If you don't see what he adds to the team, you need to study basketball more. Don't forget that his hand isn't fully recovered yet so his shot is going to be off. I really can't wait till he gets to 100% and shows everybody what he can do. His J will never be as good as Taylor's but they each offer a different game that works for the Rockets. As far as KT being too short to play PF, that a bunch of malarkey. He's physical, a lot quicker than most 4's and does not give up position on the low block. He's a very good low post defender, even against guy 3-4 inches taller than him. He has a nice wingspan and a ton of grit. KT is valueable to this team and should not be lumped together with Moochie and Rice. End of rant.
Yeah, KT does add a lot to this team. The question is if his skills will be redundant and will he be the odd man out with TMo, Hawkins, and Nachbar commanding the 3 and MoT and EG at the 4. But like I said before, keep KT, unless it helps us get rid of Rice and Mooch.
Hey Greg M These the Same folx that be All upon Ben Wallace [NOW!] and he is 6'8 play Center. . . . . Did the scream for us to go after him when Orlando had their Clearence Sale? [I know I was interested] no he did not have that POTENTIAL then What about Danny Fortson . . . these guys would run him out of the league. . . . Rockets have bandwagon fans . . .and so do players Rocket River
Listen I have nothing against KT. I just wonder if we could get something better for him and a couple other guys like mooche and Rice since they aren't playing that much. If we can get something "BETTER" than KT I really don't see the problem. I liked Dickerson and a couple of the players we had but we got something better in Francis. I liked Thorpe but we got something better when we got Drexler. I like KT and think he's good but if we can get something better then I wouldn't mind pulling the trigger. So I'm basically "asking" what does everyone think we can get for KT Mooche and Rice if we were thinking about a trade. I'm not saying that KT is a scrub and that we should trade him because we have better options on our team already but if we could get someone better for those three that would fill the 3 spot better then heck why not, especially with Griffin emerging and Mo Tay coming back
KT is a long term keeper. He can play this game. (I do wish he were taller, like a legit 6'8" or 6'9", for example.) Rice is superfluous, I believe, on this team. Mooch is the only NBA caliber insurance Rox have at the '1'. Of course, Rice and Mooch for Spree works for me with Spree playing 30+ backing up 1, 2, 3...
People on this board seriously overestimate KT's value. The man is a black hole who takes ill advised shots and has rarely finished at the cup this year. As a 3, he has no outside shot. The team plays much better with Griffin and Taylor at the 4 and Hawkins at the 3. We should also be giving Nachbar some minutes. This team needs balance. Everything that KT brings to the table Griffin and Taylor already do better. TRADE KT. Moochie and Rice have shown little this year too so I wouldn't be heartbroken to see them go. But unlike KT, they do fullfill needs if they can settle into their roles.
Oooooh, u brought up Dickerson. He's like a Mobley clone. What would happen if we got him back? Cato/Ming EG/MoT Hawkins/TMo Cat/Dickerson Francis/Maddox Personally I really really like that team. Anyways, come on RocketRiver and GregM... just about everyone on this site will acknowledge KT's skills and what he gives the Rox.. but would we.. could we trade away KT packaged with Mooch and Rice in order to get rid of them? In an ideal world we could keep KT and just drop Mooch and Rice... Without Rice and Mooch we'd have more room.
Why drop anybody? We're 6-3, and just got most of these guys back healthy. Some are probably still not fully healthy. TMo isn't even back yet. The Rice thing to me is without merit. He only played 9 minutes, did well, and was 1-2. Give it some time. There are 73 games left. He will be a good 10-20 minute player depending on the opposing team. We have a squadron of those type players. I have seen how we wear people down running in different looks and combinations and it is still in the experimental stage. It's just too early for the get rid of talk...
Ah, but wouldn't it be great to go 79-3 now? Sad to say, I don't think Rice or Mooch can be counted on for good d and o for 2/3 of the rest of this season's games. But it'd be nice if Rice becomes a three point specialist...
