From the parts I saw: Spoiler There are guns in the show; there was a scene involving a shootout. However, one of the members of the militia said they were outlawed and punishable by being hung.
I like post-apocalyptic themed shows, but they tend to fall short on delivery. The plot holes are numerous, the acting is terrible and the script is just as bad. I wonder when producers will realize that shows with teen angst never last.
So you compare these people who live off the land to Jefferson rather the frontiersmen? By your logic, since we have no photographic evidence of your great great grandfather, he did not exist either? You need to read history books sometime, not just look at pictures.
I was mildly interested, and while the premiered wasn't bad, it wasn't that great either. Would probably be a lot better on a cable network.
The characters are boring. The main girl is terrible at acting. Her uncle does not fit the role of a bad ass fighter. The fat guy is trying to play Hurley from the Lost. BTW, for being a $80 Million Google guy, it sure is taking him long to figure out that he has a USB device in his hand.
Like in The Walking Dead (another post-apocalypse setting), ammo ran scarce when production stuff went down. No modern bullet factories, and this show is set 15 years after the power went down. Muskets work because their bullets are easy to make, although who would really own a musket in modern times for there to be enough to supply a militia? But modern guns still exist. It's just they're probably limited to the highest ranking militia men.
Oh yeah, acting is terrible. Plot seems dry, characters one dimensional. Blah blah. But at least the girl is hot.
Amazing how one bad choice can kill a show but it was more than her . . . the whole setup was . . .just weak. The father's death was so . . . pathetic and predictable and then having the Asthmatic brother outrun anyone was crazy I don't like how hardened folx just become stupid and pathetic Didn't know our military taught folx to be bad asses with a sword Rocket River
It was ok, but underwhelming. I'll give it another episode or two, but it's chances don't look great despite the initial solid ratings for the premiere. On the flip side ABC's Last Resort which premieres this Thursday is getting good early reviews, while the TV ads didn't interest me that much. You can watch the pilot online early here http://collider.com/last-resort-pilot/194605/ (I haven't watched it yet).
Well ok...I think the moment this show officially lost me was the Iphone moment. And now it's really making me miss Walking Dead.
The acting is what's killing me. I actually think the plot is decent and can lead to some cool stuff...but the acting is terrible across the board and that's really killing it. I'll give it a few more episodes, but right now it doesn't look promising.
