Great visuals. It's worth a look. ONE look. So violent it makes Pulp Fiction look like The Little Mermaid.
Yeah, honestly at 13 i may have been a little uncomfortbale watching all the nudity with my dad... but I'm sure that varies from relationship to relationship...
Saw it this weekend. I thought the violence was over the top to the point of absurdity. At times I was a bit bored interestingly enough. At the same time, it was visually amazing and probably worth seeing on the big screen. Mickey Rourke gave a very good performance but most of the other actors/actresses seemed weak. If you're a fan of the comic book, you'll probably like it, but over all it seemed a bit juvenile in the amount of violence, random gratuitous nudity (not that I'm complaining about that one), and lack of much character development.
13? Yes. He should go. Come on you idiots...we were all, um, growing curious about the ladies by the time we were thirteen.
Badass to end all badasses - think of the punisher x 10. I'm interested in seeing the DVD just to fill out his story arc. Rourke against his archnemesis in this story was really cool. Do you remember how the scorpion king stood out in the Mummy Part II? IMO, this screams for a prequel with just his character.
THe ladies is fine...very fine....but it's way too violent for a lot of 13-year olds to understand/appreciate/put into perspective.
I saw the movie yesterday. I thought it was pretty entertaining, but it was difficult to care about any of the characters because the supposedly good guys weren't really any more good than the bad guys, so who cares if they live or die? I liked the Bruce Willis/Jessica Alba sequence probably the best though. The gratuitous violence seems kind of silly and overdone, reminiscient of Kill Bill Vol. 1. It's worth seeing though, mostly for style and some interesting scenes.
What's up with all of the genital trauma in this movie? With all of the people getting axed in the nuts, shot in the nuts, and their nuts ripped off you would think a woman wrote it.
Did you recognize who that was? It's Nicky Katt from the first season of Boston Public and Boiler Room. http://www.kinoweb.de/film2000/BoilerRoom/pix/bra.jpg
"I only came here to do two things tonight, Newton; drink some beer and kick some ass, looks like we're almost outta beer. "
I don't think you should take a 13 year old to it, but that's just my opinion. You, by all means, should see it though.
