Just watching the tv and there's 9/11 rememberances everywhere. God bless the firemen, cops, people working in WTC 1 and 2, and everyone else involved. God Speed +.
never forget big ups to our troops protecting us from more of these, as well as condolences to those who lost loved ones
wow, i'll never forget that day...the horror of watching it on tv. i never saw it live...in fact, i didnt find out until lunchtime that day. what a sad day... i visited ground zero in 2004...really creepy and i could have swore that i felt weird or maybe it was just me being really creepied out knowing that lot of people perished. RIP
I remember that day like it was yesterday. I was watching Sportscenter and they interrupted it saying something like for more news on the World Trade Center crash tune into ABC. I tuned into CNN just in time to see the second plane hit the other tower live.
I always end up doing a lot of thinking each 9-11. Not only because of what happened and how it's changed a lot of things on a national level, but also because today is also my hire-date anniversary (3yr) at work, so I tend to get real introspective today too.
I was a sophomore in HS on my way from 1st period to homeroom when I saw a TV in are school's main lobby that showed smoke coming up from the towers. I didn't have time to watch much before I had to get to homeroom on the opposite side of school. I wasn't sure if someone had bombed the WTC again or if it was remembering the bombing in 1993. Our homeroom was in a trailer, so we had no TV and it was rumors flying everywhere. The school then had an announcement and found out what had actually happened. The students that lived on the AFB were not allowed to go home, and nobody was allowed to leave the AFB as it was in total lockdown. My mom had actually interviewed for a job on base(got the job) that very morning, but was off the base before the first plane hit. I had immediately felt anger. My thoughts had went immediately to Bin Laden being he would likely be the one responsible. When I got home that day there was nothing but 9/11 coverage on TV. I remember so vividly watching everything. How I cried at so many things. How proud I felt watching the President speak. It was such an amazing mixture of feelings that day and the following weeks.
"Never Again" Rest in Peace to the innocent 3,000 people from 90 countries who lost their lives on 9/11/01
I was watching Men In Black a couple of days ago, and saw the twin towers in the background a lot. Makes me think of 9/11 every time.
We were cycling down the oregon coast. Disconnected from the TV and Radio grid. Heard the news in bits and pieces from passing motorists, and people we met along the way. We watched the news at lunch at a roadside tavern. The next day the streets were lined with American flags put up by the boy scouts. It was one of the most moving and surreal scenes I've ever experienced.
SAME. i was watching Gangs of New York. they the towers at the end I wish MSNBC didnt feel the need to play their broadcast of it ever year. I hate seeing those images. it's so hard to watch. i know i can just change the channel, but im just throwing it out there.

I recently moved to the NY/NJ area about a month ago. Walk right by the WTC all the time.
I was in-between jobs at the time and I had a late interview scheduled for that afternoon, so I slept in. By the time I woke up, both buildings has already collapsed. I turned on the radio and immediately heard a lady saying “the entire building is just…..gone.” I thought maybe some old warehouse downtown had been demolished or something, so I turned off the radio and casually strolled into my living room to turn on the TV. I remember a few days later I was driving somewhere and listening to a memorial being broadcast on the radio. I think it was the one at the White House maybe the Saturday after? They had a boy’s choir singing a song and I literally had to pull over and cry for a few minutes. At the time, that wasn’t like me at ALL.
I worked at an American Express Travel location. They book airline flights for buisnesses. They knew what was going on instantly and followed the chaos for most of the day. There were so many planes that couldn't be accounted for in the immediate few hours - the place was freaking out. I remember getting most of my news from Jokers Updates, because so many websites were down.
If there is a god, I hope he gives the friends and families of the lost solace, and both to us and our enemies resolution, enlightenment and peace.
anyone have the link from the thread that day. i remember going back through it a couple weeks later and it was so surreal to read.
[thread=21805]Sure thing[/thread], Groo2iuaksjcdaklhxdksdjgxkmxcbzmgrux. I was in my Anthropology class and my wife called me. She was at home with my 6-month-old daughter and said there was a crash. While she was still on the phone telling me about the first plane, she said "OMG!!! OMG!!!!" and I said "What?" and she says "ANOTHER PLANE just hit the tower!!! It's like they did it just in time so we could see it live!!! OMG! This is HORRIBLE!" Her panic was justified. I ran back into class and told the class the sad news.
The worst memory I have of 9/11 actually happened a few years later when I heard the voice of a man on his cell phone, as the building was collapsing, then it went silent.
At the 2:50 mark, but the entire video is really powerful. <object width="425" height="344"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/kv4s3fn8jDc&hl=en&fs=1&"></param><param name="allowFullScreen" value="true"></param><param name="allowscriptaccess" value="always"></param><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/kv4s3fn8jDc&hl=en&fs=1&" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowscriptaccess="always" allowfullscreen="true" width="425" height="344"></embed></object>
