I was a huge fan of The Crow. Saw it 8 times in the first 2 weeks it was in the theaters. I will not see any remake...especially one done by Mtv.
Depp's an excellent actor, but I don't want to risk a quirky Eric Draven. This is assuming they stay 100% true to the original and don't get too creative.
I'm not the one to complain about Hollywood remakes, but c'mon this movie is not even that old. It's not even at the big 2-0 yet, and there is already another remake. It's also funny, because the original film is not that dated compared to a lot of comic books movies.
I feel similar, love the Crow and still watch it from time to time. I will watch the remake but don't have high hopes from the description or anything I've heard so far. I think they should use Jonathan Rhys Meyers for the role of Draven and go far more by the book then the original. Not saying I don't like the original because I do but the book is very different.
I really like Depp but he's too old to play the crown imo. It needs someone that can pull of the tortured soul vibe. How about Joseph Gordon Levitt?
Thinking back, Brick is very similar to the Crow, but Levitt would need to beef up. He kind of has that Michael Cera typecast thing.
It's getting out of control, this rebooting and remaking. Let's remake the dark knight..it's been 2 years
Well, there are less violence in brick but it's the same tone. If only heath ledger was still alive....
