I'm ever the optimist. But I just looked through the remaining schedule. There are only five games I'm worried about - two against Dallas, two against Phoenix, and one against the Fakers. Now, I'm not saying we're going to win every remaining game except for those five. But the shocking thing to me is that I have faith that this team, even without Yao, can beat ANY team, ANY night. If the team can keep this chemistry when Yao comes back, I expect us to go deep in the playoffs this year.
Agreed. If Tracy's back holds up, I wouldn't be surprised if we go on a 12-3 run until the end of February. March and April are little tougher but we should handle it.
your an optimist - and your worried about the Fakers game? But seriously, we do have the guns to beat any team. Problem is we dont bring it every night. This next 5 games at home (and throw in the roadie against memphis to make it 6) will be a good indicator of where our heads are at. We should of course, win all 6. And pretty easily. We are renowned for letting up against the easier teams. Lets be positive though and say we take all 6 - thats a W-L of 32-16!! we have a real chance to cement ourselves now. We've done all the hard work, just coming through the toughest stretch of the season smelling, for the most part, like roses. just get it done!!
I'm concerned about the Fakers game because, even though I think he's a complete douche, if Kobe is in the game and wants to win, there is always a chance he'll pull it out. He seems to be able to bend a game to his will an amazing amount of the time. I still think we can take them, of course. I'm just concerned. I think we can beat any team in the league, including Dallas and Phoenix. I'm just concerned, that's all. The rest of the games, I look at them and think, "we should be able to win THAT one." Every one. Of course, I know we probably won't win them all. I guess I'm saying that I wouldn't be shocked if we won all but a handful of games the rest of the season - and THAT is shocking, because I haven't felt that way about this team in several years.
any team beside suns and mavs. i don't like to saying so, but face it: they are better than us. For suns, it's just tough to match up, even when Yao is back (in which case, i believe it's even worse to catch up their speed). For mavs, their rosters, particularly their bench, are way better than us. Except them, we are afraid of nobody. I think, by the end of the regular season, Suns and mavs will lock the first two seeds in the west; spurs and jazz for 3-4; fakers and us will take 5-6 places. i'm pretty optimistic that we will pass the first round this playoff, but we are likely to loose to suns and mavs in the 2nd round. Best for Rox and Yao.
i just got back in time and believe it or not, we won the Championships! well, i know its a spoiler, bah! who cares? i just want y'all to know! ..later
bah! i fear no one! and neither should the Rockets. Dulla$$ and Pheeblenix are overrated and no match for a healthy Rockets (that means T-Mac, Yao, Bonzi, Shane, Snyder, et. all, even Rafer and Juwan, all clicking on all cylinders) squad. heck, San Antonio and Utah can't even hang with the Yao-less Rockets. so Phoenix is 35-8 and Dallas is 35-9. anybody remember when freaking Denver went 32-8 when Karl took over? that's an entire half of a season of excellent basketball. the Fakers are overachieving. they've been actually quite decent even without Odom. with Odom, i can actually see them consistently beating the Mavs and Suns, whatever that implies. Denver is a big question mark. they currently have even more talent than in '05. as of right now, Carmelo and AI (arguably 2 top 10 players) seem to have no problem sharing the ball. George Karl is a great regular season coach. i can see them finishing 32-8 again. mark my words, Houston, Denver and L.A. will all have better second half records than Phoenix or Dallas.
Lets not get ahead of ourselves. You can only let yourself down by looking so far ahead into the schedule. I'm pretty sure the players don't do that. Just win the next game.
