Nah, that's just something that Obi Wan made up so that he could kill the Pope and be seen as the hero when he takes the bomb that he secretly planted in a helicopter and then gets hurt parachuting out saving Vatican City. Then the stupid cardinals will say "Oh Obi Wan, you must be a messenger from God and you should be the new Pope." But then the guy from Bosom Buddies exposes his plot and Obi Wan kills himself all Vietnam-war-era-buddhist-monk-protest guy-style. He doesn't become a ghost like Yoda, though. That sucks for Obi Wan.
christians think they are god's people? don't the three main religions believe this? muslims refer to christians and jews as "people of the book" jews refer to themselves as the "children of god" as well, in fact they mention this 10 times in the first testament, so it's not just christians. as for being gullible? religion is faith, i can't explain it to you any better than that, it's very simple
