but they can't guard anyone for **** Roy hit them up for 52 Mo Williams had something like 46pts Devin Harris had 47, Dirk had close to 40 they keep getting burned
I gotta think Steve Kerr is kinda on the hot seat in Phoenix. He's made major moves, but can't say it's been for the better, and reverting back to the original product. He better hope they keep this up!
I'm inclined to agree with you. I don't think they have enough in the tank to make an extended run, but I would not want to face them in the first round. It would be awesome if they took out the Lakers.
Suns don't play enough defense and don't have enough talent to challenge the Lakers in a 7-game series. They would be lucky not to get swept. You have to punch the Lakers in the mouth and make them earn their points to beat them.
While I don't think the Suns will go very far in the playoffs, I think they are a lock to make the playoffs now. This run and gun teams has always had tons of regular season success. They will be able to blowout the bad teams, and get enough wins to make it in.
In the game where Novak had 23 & 7 or more & beat the Knicks, Clippers basically only played 7 players. Ricky Davis was the ONLY Clipper with a negative +/- by FAR. I'll ask again how does that seem to happen? Mentioned in the Terry Porter firing thread how I hoped it really wasnt just a mindset change that the Suns needed, cuz they still have enough talent for a traditional style team. Last year though with a different coach and players they were still only a couple key plays down the stretch from beating the Spurs in the playoffs.
Lets see what they do when they actually play a team with something close to a defense outside of Phoenix. I will say, though, 81 in a half is damn impressive, and if they would have left in their starters or at least the decent reserves, they would have easily broken 150 and flirted with 160. BUT, if you recall, they beat someone by 48 earlier in January before the firing. I am more certain its the Suns playing with more ferocity out of will rather than a coaching change. They have always been capable of this and, frankly, had done it before. This doesn't even hold weight compared to Howard almost having 50-20 last night. I'd like to see him down low for the Suns instead of Shaq (in my own lil dream world). 150 everynight. End of story.
