Call me optimistic but I say ... Record 56-26 and get 2nd seed in the West! Also we will beat the Lakers 1st game of the season!!
I was thinking of starting this very thread two days ago (so I'm giving it five stars). 55 wins. If that T-Mac-drama-interfering, toothless tribe of underachieving Rafer-led youngins could muster 52 wins in '09, then this bunch of confident, more mature, less distraction-laden guys should do a few better. No ifs, ands, or buts. "If Yao, if the refs, if Brooks finally..." - no. When you make a prediction, you come strong, or you don't come at all. (That being said, my 55 wins is not a "book it" statement. I'm shooting wildly in the dark - which is how most of my nights conclude, as well.)
I think it depends on Martin and if he is able rto regain his explosive/effecient scoring rate. If he does, we wont miss Yao's less minutes all that much, if not, then besides Brooks and Luis, offensively we are going to struggle. Personaly i'm more then confident KM will have a big year. I expect him to be better at playing off the ball this season. I think we will see him score alot of backdoor and flex cuts this season. I would say 48 to 51 wins and the 5th seed
That's some crystal ball you got there. I think the rest of us are waiting to see how he looks when he plays.
That's right. Until the season starts. Until the season ends. Then the days will be over. Until the season starts. Until the season ends. Then the days will be over. Repeat 5 times. Houston will be 53 wins with a deviation of 3.
You are a yao hardcore fan so it's understandable that you are living in fantasy land. Yeah Will be back to 20-10 and a superstar in 24 minutes a game.
55-27 2nd or 3rd Seed in the West. We know what it all depends on, but I believe Yao will finally be healthy this season, especially with his MPG cap of 24 minutes. AB about the same production as last yr., but will fall drop off on scoring because he won't need to carry the full load. I am really excited to see K-Mart have a full training camp under his belt and get re-acclamated with Rick Adleman's system again. He seems, in interviews, to be a top 5 SG again and be on full attack mode. Scola..(see FIBA Tourney). Finally, we will have our first real back-up center since Mutumbo, and Hayes can now play his true posistion of power forward again. Waiting to see how Jermain Taylor has improved (hear that he is showing signs of coming along) and Budinger hopefully will show the full talent level as he will now be sharing minutes with Battier. Very curious to how PatPat will play for us with his limited minutes. I believe he will be as effective as Carl Landry was, or close to it. Its hard to tell but, Morey and the Rockets were high on that pick so I don't have many concerns with his development. We now have the deepest bench in the league and maybe the best backcourt duo in place since Francis/Mobley. On paper, we should be capable of beating just about anyone. And for those doubters, look what we did vs. LA in the 08-09 Playoffs, you can't tell me that we don't have a better supporting cast now vs. then...
