I don't get your logic... you say we have no need to win this year but yet just make it to the playoffs ? so the thought of getting the 1st pick and having to give it to the raptors, doesn't disturb you? (It could happen if they don't WIN) The rockets would lose out on what could be another franchise player i.e. LeBron James.

Wins = Less likely to be a top pick, won't hurt us as bad.
Losses = You lost the season with nothing to show for (HIGH PICK).

If this trade did happen one or two of our big contracts would have to match up with that meaning MoT or Rice or Cato would be shipped off as well..... I would rather have a young Jamison than injured MoT and hobbled Rice.

Stoudemire right now is playing like a beast, last night he had 11 pts 9 boards and 3 blocks in 30 minutes, and is averaging close to a double double this season. Pretty good for a Freshman in college.

The trade would of definitely helped the Rockets, and since G. State is rebuilding it would of helped them as well. Many of you are not giving Jamison his proper due, When starting as Power Forward he avg. 25pts and 10reb.

This was only two seasons ago. Last year he averaged right under 20pts at the S.F. position. The main draw back, if this trade went through is his salary. Hell, the owner can afford it's not like were the owner and have other ways to spend hundreds of millions.:D

One more thing, if the Rockets did make the trade most likely they would of traded Griffin for Rashard. For we could of had a pere S.F after we delt Rice in the trade to get Jamison (hopefully he would of been the one to go). The Sonics would of had to pick up MOT if they wanted Griffin; to make the salaries macth. I'm sure Seattle would of thrown some body else in the mix as well.

Furthermore it would of been interresting to see who the Rockets would have selected with the third pick of the draft. Hopefully they would of got Gooden and started him as our Center (wishfully thinking).

It seem Rudy would of made the trade since this is a make or break season for him (It has been noted and even said, that if the Rockets don't make the playoffs this year they will have another coach and maybe G.M.). This would of locked the Rockets into the Playoffs and maybe a few Championships through the next ten years.

I don't like every thing about these two trades but it's hard to argue that we would'nt have been a much better team and feared by our opponents. I wonder if anybody is feeling out there.

Yao Ming will be with the Rockets for at least 4 years. Enough said.

So would the Golden State Warriors.

And Cato's $6.6m is not nearly enough to match Jamison's $10.6m.

And according to RealGM, Jamison is a Full Base Year Compensation player...he wasn't and isn't going anywhere for a loooooooooong time.

I am sorry, but this Rockets thread from the artist formerly known as Troy Baros is the funniest thing I have ever read in awhile. This kind of applies to the whole outlandish trade scenarios in this thread. Forgive me for even referring to anything TB says, but I got a good laugh out of it.
