The guy is a perfect fit as a PF on this team. He is basically Chuck Hayes on steroids. Last 3 years in the league he has led the league in rebounds per minute. The man is a rebounding machine, the best rebounder since Dennis Rodman. I think he's gettable as well, because DENVER is WAYYYY over the luxury tax since getting AI, they need to cut salary, and reggie has a long contract. If they commit to keeping K-MART, NENE and CAMBY, then reggie is surplus to requirements, they were basically shopping camby this offseason for depth cos they dun want to pay the luxury tax. Sura+JL3+2nd round pick could get it done.
Why would Denver want Sura + JL3 + 2nd round pick? I thought they didn't have enough room for reggie evans.
straight out salary dump. If their owner can be convinced to spend what it takes, then no, that deal would not be possible, they would basically spend the MLE for a shooter/defender like charlie bell, resign steve blake for close to MLE. But all indications are that they are not willing to blow luxury tax threshold out of the water, they want to minimise luxury tax. They will consider trading camby for 2/3 rotation players, and probably won't match steve blake's offer. This way, they basically free up an MLE to pay steve blake, essentially, they are trading reggie evans for steve blake, cos they can't pay both. Without getting rid of salary, they HAVE to trade camby, because it's the only way that they can get depth on their squad since they are not willing to spend the MLE. Ideally they would like to trade K-MART, but given his contract, he is basically untradeable. So by trading evans, they gain blake, and maybe are not forced to trade camby.
Just what an Adelman team needs to be successful...someone on the court who can't score...unless they're in a gym by themselves or 3' from the basket. I realize some will greatly regret it, but the Rockets' era of Kelvin Cato as PF is over.
Evans is not better. Chuck plays better defense. Evans tend to play lessor defense and leave his man to rebound. Chuck can also do things offensively. Jvg's system simply did not give him that role because we had better post offense in Yao.

Since no one has mentioned it already, this guys is known for grabbing Chris Kaman's testicles (which are located within the scrotum) and squeezing them between his sweaty palms. /ballsack
The Rockets do not need Reggie Evans They need a 7 footer along side Yao, who can block shots and dunk whenever he can. Darko Milicic is a good example Chris Wilcox Nene
agreed. DARKO WOULD BE PERFECT. as would the others you listed. but... that would mean managment would have to get off their @ss and make something happen... not holding my breath.
It doesn't really have much to do with managment. Nene and Wilcox are just way out of our price range. Nene has a crazy big contract so there's no way to make that trade - I have no idea about Wilcox's current contract but if he was a free agent we wouldn't be able to afford him. Darko is a free agent this summer isn't he? I think he is...but I don't think he's really worth going after. This was his supposed break out year and he still didn't show much.
I don't watch any Magic games (who would want to?) but from his stats I've noticed he's capable of putting up Juwan-Howard type points (5-15 in a game) but his strong point seems to be his blocking skills, and perhaps rebounding. But he's shown he can rack up 5+ blocks in a game, which would be great for any team.
