I am not sure of the motive - to help elect Bush? This makes it possible for Nader to get on the ballot in seven states. Prior to this he had been unsuccessful in getting on the ballot anywhere. edit: OK, the Reform Party is for peace and lower gasoline prices, and anybody but a Democrat or Republican. http://prcom.reformparty.org/documents/press-18.html
I would like to pat my own back for helping Ralph not get on the Ballot in Texas by refusing repeated requests to sign my W. Fox Mulder on that petition.
Well he won't be on the Texas ballot... ------------------------------- Nader Won't Be on Ballot in Texas By Nick Anderson Times Staff Writer WASHINGTON — Independent presidential candidate Ralph Nader on Monday failed to qualify for the November ballot in Texas, but he immediately filed a lawsuit against the state, challenging its petition requirements. Unless the federal courts rule in his favor, Nader apparently will not appear on the ballot in the nation's second-largest state. His Texas bid is probably more important for its symbolism than any practical political effect; Texas is President Bush's home state, and he should carry it easily. Still, the ballot setback was Nader's second in recent weeks and raised questions about the depth of his grass-roots support. http://news.yahoo.com/news?tmpl=story&u=/latimests/20040511/ts_latimes/naderwontbeonballotintexas
Because he has some particularly strong views about some really important topics; he is in favor of revamping our election system to get big money out and government by, of, and for the PEOPLE back; he wants to end the destructive and counterproductive war on drugs; he wants a fair tax where the wealthiest and corporations pay their fair share, we tax wealth more than work, and we tax activities we dislike more than necessities. He wants some very nice things, but this is not the year for a protest vote.
