Nothing wrong with having a Steve Kerr clone on the bench, it’s just that we may have wasted a top three pick to get him. Zero free throws in 231 minutes is beyond acceptable for the third pick of any draft. Remember this is the same player who absolutely disappeared against Oakland in his only NCAA tournament appearance and he was awful in tonight’s pressure game. Too early to panic, but think it may be time to forget about the Curry comparison and go with the more likely Kerr comparison. Tough to be both short and slow footed in today’s NBA, even if you’re a very good three point specialist.

While Sheppard doesn't look like he has all star capability, nobody else from that draft looks all that good either...

Number 3 pick in a very weak draft is like a 20 pick elsewhere. Oh well.

Kerr is an underrated coach and I wish we had more Kerr coaches around the league.

Kinda sucks .. I was all for him but seems like we needed a back up big man like Clingan.. it was cringe worth watching Landale be a big reason our lead evaporated

My issue with Sheppard is he is scared to shoot. I am a big fan of Jalen and Jalen isnt exactly a sharp shooter, in fact he has been a big ass bricklayer this season.

But, Jalen is always game to shoot and that helps the team with spacing. We have the best rebounding team it doesnt matter if you miss, what matters is you take that shot. If the ball flies up even if it clanks, Sengun, Amen, Tari or whoever will get it and do a putback. But if you dont even shoot and you just stand there cuz you are afraid to miss then you arent helping the team.

Sheppard is doing what he did in college which is limit his attempts so his percentages look good. People forget although he shot 50% he only had 12 ppg. Shooting 3/4 might look good percentage wise but overall that is hurting the team.

Mccain is averaging 16 ppg on 40% shooting on 9 attempts.

Lots of rookies look good just check out the Kia rankings.
