The sad part is he kept using it during Game 2 also.

I am still waiting for him to use it this game.

I read an article several years back that said that coaches and general managers voted Manny Ramirez the dumbest player in MLB. Now I understand why.

Btw, Pedro, you going after Steve Palermo next?

The one thing that would have eliminated all this madness??

Getting rid of the DH in the American League.

Its useless.... honestly. Did you know the original intent for the DH was to "spark interest" in the less-interesting, and younger, american league?

Does it still need that?... no!

While I don't really have a desire to see pitcher's hit... I'll get rid of the DH of it would avoid confrontations like this.

The Red Sox are still hopping mad, and they're coming nowhere close to hitting Clemens... the Yankees probably won't do much better, but they don't have to... they're up 4-2.

Hey grummett long time no see:)

That shot of the Redsox dugout that showed them all laughing and clowning around even though they are losing 4-2 just about says it all.

Why does that "says it all?" Would you rather them have scowls and be all tense in the dugout? I think being loose like that is not a bad thing, Bob.

Although it doesn't look good right now, you NEVER count the Red Sox out at Fenway.

And I have no clue on why Pedro would hit Garcia (if that is what he was really intending to do). I am glad that Zimmer is okay but come on, the man swung at him, what did he expect Pedro to do? Let Zimmer hit him? Zimmer is 72, not 27 and he needs to remember that.

I'm suprised that none of the Yankees players went after Pedro with a vengence... even though he did this out of self-defense, I'm sure a lot of players saw just what we did... Pedro throwing him to the ground.

I think everybody was stunned more than anything.

The Yankees are probably more stressed since it was THEM who got toyed with that inning. Pedro almost nailed one of the guys in the head, their bench coach gets thrown, and warnings were issued so that no retaliation could have been allowed.

Pedro Martinez is a complete jerk

Body slamming a 72 year old coach?

You have just forever ruined your reputation in my eyes.

Notice the Yankee bench isn't joking around? Being loose like that IS a bad thing. There is a time to be loose and joke around and then there is a time to be serious and have your mind on the task at hand. See my sig if you need further explanation.

Pedro is just a punk, plain and simple. A great pitcher but still a punk.

Are you telling me Pedro couldn't have just stepped aside and dodged 72 year old Don Zimmer instead of grabbing him by the head and throwing him to the ground? Not saying he didn't swing at him, but I didn't see a swing. It looked like he was running at him and trying to grab him.

You sound like Tim McCarver. Did you not see Zimmer swing at him? Is Pedro supposed to let him hit him because Zimmer is an old man? I doubt that you, me, or anyone else is going to let someone, no matter how old they are, swing at them like that. Yea, he is a real jerk for defending himself.

    Bob,

They have shown numerous replays and Zimmer swung at him. You know about baseball and its history. Do you think that Bob Gibson or Don Drysdale are "punks"?

Neither Don Drysdale or Bob Gibson grabbed a 72 year old man and threw him to the ground. So the answer is no, they were not punks.

Yea, you're right, Bob. They never had 72 year old men running at them and taking a swing at them. I don't know why I asked the question to you.

Punk Red Sux lose, even with their idiot groundskeeper attacking the Yankee bullpen. 2-1 with the Yankee's best matchup coming in game 4. Let's go Yankees.

    Just saw the highlight.

That was not a punch thrown by Zim.

Pedro is an ass. For the throwdown AND pointing to the head.

That pitch on Garcia HAD to be intentional. No way you hit someone in the back, so close to the head, accidentally. Especially when you have the talent of Martinez.

    Classless.

Great game! The Red Sox and the fans lost any composure they had in that wild 4th inning and the Yankees took advantage.

I don't know if Pedro was throwing at Nick Johnson and I don't care. We all got to see what a whiny biyatch Pedro Martinez is when he was yelling into the Yankees dugout(at Zimmer), pointing to his head saying "I'll hit you in the head!" after Zimmer let Pedro know he should lay off the head hunting.

Ramirez lost it when Clemens barely buzzed him the next inning. I wouldn't even say it was a buzz, but more like a inside corner of the plate high fast ball. I guess Ramirez though he'd be able to get Clemens tossed.

The benches cleared and then Zimmer goes after Pedro. I agree he was defending himself and didn't do much damage.

Apparently(I didn't know this) Zimmer was hit in the head back in his playing days and was screwed up for weeks and has a metal plate in his head because of it. I'm guessing that is what pushed him over the edge and made him try to take on Pedro.

Still, great win by the Yankees.

C'mon Marlins. Keep the curses alive!

Sure it was. Zimmer tried to throw a left. Pedro is a punk, but I don't blame him for tossing Zim aside. He could have hurt him if he wanted to.
