This is probably the best rivalry in Sports and Fox has the crappiest announcers doing this series. They make it seem like just another game. Joe Buck is terrible, McCarver is worse and what the hell is Brett Boone doing in the booth?

    We want Curt Gowdy!!!!!

    It figures...

Pedro is hurt because there is no way that scrubs like "Private Gomer Pyle" are able to hit like that if he is healthy.

So much for winning a World Series...

I actually like Joe Buck... he's getting to that point where we'll all one day associate HIS voice with baseball. Give him some more time... but there's definitly NOTHING wrong with his announcing style.

As for McCarver, everybody pretty much has this impression that he's awful... but I have to wonder why oh why, if he's so awful, he's been the #1 color guy for national baseball for over 15 years.

Btw... Pedro has lost it... he has no fastball, and its about to get REAL ugly in the 4th inning.

Couple the fact that UT is getting BLOWN OUT... this is not a good saturday.

A fight would only benefit Boston. They're not gonna win unless some of these Yankees get tossed.

At least Clemens can't retaliate... but Pedro needs to worry about pitching instead of plunking batters.

The Yankees have already done their fair share of damage... look at the scoreboard Pedro.

    Zimmer hurt apparently.

    EDIT: Zimmer ok.

Ya know, I feel bad for Zimmer, but he went after Pedro and Pedro defended himself.

The way he kept bringing up that Ed Hillel guy from the first game at Yankee stadium (the guy who touched the ball they called a HR) was just bush league IMHO.

McCarver is not that good. There are many who are better than him who don't get the national exposure he does.

The Redsox have lost their cool, and the series in my opinion. Manny is a joke, that pitch wasn't even near him.

I would love to see Manny Ramirez bat aginst Bob Gibson if he thought that was close:eek:

Just like Pedro needs to stop plunking batters, Manny should have been focused on trying to get his team back in this game.

I gotta admire Zim... the guy has no fear.

Anybody else want to know why baseball is the most intense, most mentally grueling, and most exciting post-season.

Yeah, Manny did overreact. He was looking for a fight. Apparently, so was Don Zimmer. :)

Zim is old school all the way and is fed up with Pedro hitting Yankee batters and getting away with it. This episode only helps the Yankees.

Buck has a tendency to find something to latch on to every game for his schtick... but that game wasn't that interesting anyways, so he had to come up with something.

After being in St. Louis for the last four years, and listening to him on a regular basis, I've really begun to appreciate his pure play by play abilities. He's still young... and still improving.

I honestly think JD (Jim Deshaies) is the "funniest" color man I've ever listened to, and McCarver's delivery can be a little irritating at times, but he does possess a good insight... and he usually makes predictions that come true.

Nick, I grew up listening to Joe's father Jack Buck on KMOX radio. Of course Jack is a legend, and I am willing to give Joe time to come around as a baseball announcer. I do think he is decent doing NFL games.
