I don't think I've been this depressed over the outcome of a sporting event since the Rockets were eliminated from the 1997 conference finals on my birthday.

Uh, you said that on Wednesday and you were wrong on both instances. But, hey you are doing what most Yankee fans like to do and that is being obnoxious, smug jerks. Yet another reason why almost everybody and their brother will be rooting against them. Funny how we haven't heard you cheering about Notre Dame this year. Or do you only root for them when they are "good"?

    Pimp and mc mark,

Thanks for being classy and good-natured during this ALCS. It was a shame that one team had to lose. I can't say good luck because I despise your team, but I respect your team and the two of you as their fans.

    Echoed.

There's no love lost between Yanks fans and Sox fans, but thanks for understanding the kicked-in-the-nuts pain Red Sox Nation is feeling.

I can't root for the Yanks to win (it's genetic, I think), but hope you guys enjoy the Series.

I think this WS will be a lot better than people think. I actually believe that the Marlins have a decent chance to beat the Yankees.

Yeah I only root for Notre Dame when they are winning.

I was a Notre Dame fan before you were born.

Let's review some "classy" Manny quotes, shall we?

Yep, yet another "classy" Redsox fan. Obnoxious and smug in his own way:)

    BobFinn,

Anybody can come on to a message board after their team won and say things. Why didn't you say these things last night? I'll tell you why because you opened your mouth Wednesday and you looked like a damn fool.

It is funny that I don't remember you posting in the past about your love for the Yankees like Pimp, mc mark, across110thstreet and R0ckets03 did. That was the reason for the Notre Dame comment. Gotta read between the lines there (I was implying that you are a bandwagon Yankee fan since I don't remember reading posts from you in the past about the Yankees); plus seeing that picture of the Titanic or whatever the hell it is really pissed me off and is classic of the Yankees and their fans rubbing it in. You should, though, take the picture of the Red Sox logo off that ship and replace it with the mugshot of Grady Little because he is the one that sank to the bottom of the ocean.

And when you have been through close to 20 years of anguish and despair with one team, Bob, then you have every right to bash the team and the manager for doing stupid decisions, especially when they cost your team the World Series. So, you will excuse me if I don't concern myself with a Yankee fan, of all people, telling me that I am not classy. LOL - these are the same fans who chanted an expletive everytime Manny Ramirez came to bat.

Next on the clutch BBS - convicted felons come on to lecture poster Manny Ramirez on the values of honesty.:p

This is the thing tho'. What about when Grady pitched Pedro at 113 pitches to Durazo against Oakland. Similar situation. Yet he was hailed for making such a move. Why? Because Pedro got out of the jam late. So this time he does it again and everyone wants to fire him. That is pretty lame in my opinion.

Then Grady makes a brilliant move when Derrick Lowe strikes out two batters with men on second and third. Everyone said he should have walked the batter to set up the double play. But Grady trusted Lowe to strike out the crap batters and he does. Why be critical of a move that worked? That should be considered brilliant. not Stupid.

Maybe Grady should get some credit for once. At least he stuck to his philosophy. It worked once. Why not try it again? And with your ace. You gotta trust in him.

    A bandwagon Yankee fan. umm...whatever

If you didn't see the humor in my posting that picture of the Titanic with the redsox logo on it, frankly, I feel sorry for you.

So you've suffered rooting for a team that causes you anguish and despair for some 20 years. Boo Hoo, cry me a river. I'm really concerned:rolleyes:

Oh, that was a real knee-slapper, alright. Sorry, but I am not "in the mood" for jokes when that is the subject. Maybe if Boston had won 26 f*cking World Series titles, I would be, but I am not. However save your pity. I don't need it, especially not from a damn Yankees fan.

So, why in the hell did you make the comment if you weren't concerned? If that is true, then there should have been no response on your part. Hypocrite.

    PSJ,

Big difference in the Oakland game and last night. For starters, the Oakland game was GAME ONE of the ALDS not GAME SEVEN of the ALCS.

Also, if memory serves me right, Pedro didn't give up a home run in the previous inning against Oakland like he did last night nor was his outs in Oakland were on hard-hit balls like they were last night.

You also have to remember that during the regular season, the Boston bullpen was shaky. So, there was nothing to get upset about in Game 1 of the ALDS because the pen hadn't proven themselves...yet.

However, it was a different story in the ALCS. The pen had an era of 1.01 going into that game. I think they have shown that they could be trusted to close out the game. Damn shame that Grady was the only one who couldn't see that.:(

Ever think of quit acting like a jerk?

Dude, I am not the one who started this. You did by bringing up old quotes this evening.

But thanks for getting personal. I'll remember this thread, BobFinn*.

Not only that, but from what I read (I didn't watch baseball in the 80's), the Boston Manager in '86 (?) took Clemens out after 7 innings with a lead and the bullpen choked it away. So it works both ways ... if he took Pedro out and the bullpen choked, people would have b****ed about him taking out maybe the best pitcher in baseball too early.

Notice that no one here b****ed about the move until after Pedro blew the game. If it was such a bad decision in and of itself, I would think we'd have seen some "why the hell is Pedro coming back out there" posts before the blowup happened...

I can vouch for that. It was right after the Rockets' game was over.
