Not content enough with Photoshopping the joy I've written a song for the Red Rowdies set to the Irish Rebel tune "Black and Tans" Red-N-Rowdy Red-N-Rowdy I was born on Houston street where the Rockets were strong and fleet With the mighty arms of Hakeem, Elvin and Moses. And each and every night when me da would come home tight He would invite the neighbors out with this chorus Come out ye Red N Rowdy and fire the crowd up proudly Show the fans how you cheer on the Rockets Tell them how Battier made the Lakers run away From hardwood, and the zone under the basket Come let me hear ye scream about the mighty Dream When he strode across the hard court like a giant Let me here those drums and the rattle and hum When the Rockets make the other team compliant Come out ye Red N Rowdy and fire up the crowd proudly Show the fans how you cheer on the Rockets Tell them how Battier made the Lakers run away From hardwood, and the zone under the basket Come tell us how T-Mac he tooked the ball and attacked When he dunked it on Shawn Bradley and the Mavericks And tell us how Yao Ming fought off the fouls and stings To bring down the Spurs, Jazz and Hornets Come out ye Red N Rowdy and fire up the crowd proudly Show the fans how you cheer on the Rockets Tell them how Battier made the Lakers run away From hardwood, and the zone under the basket The day is coming fast and the time is here at last When each team will be cast before us And if there be the need sure we will cheer with all God Speed With a verse or two of this Rowdy chorus Come out ye Red N Rowdy and fire up the crowd proudly Show the fans how you cheer on the Rockets Tell them how Battier made the Lakers run away From hardwood, and the zone under the basket Come out ye Red N Rowdy and fire up the crowd proudly Show the fans how you cheer on the Rockets Tell them how Battier made the Lakers run away From hardwood, and the zone under the basket
Nice song but what we need is like a real song they can sing during the games. Something not too long but catchy. Something like a four line chant or eight at the most. Hmm let me work on it.
Yeah its probably not very easy to chant and didn't figure it would be something the Rowdies would sing but something for fun. Had some time on hands and was just messing around but anyone with any musical talent, especially if you do Irish music, please feel free to use it.
I hadn't considered doing a version for the hearing impaired but judging from OddsOn reaction that might be needed. Criticism noted which is why I put the lyrics in so hopefully somebody with better pipes than me might be up for taking it on.
I gotta say, I really liked it! It's rough, but the idea is there. If you got a bunch of drunk dudes singing it at the same time (maybe a couple keys lower ) it'd sound really tight.
