Normally I'd be like WTF with English food.... But that Indian plate the guy eats in the kitchen! Wow....I want that. edit: and that one with the mashed potatoes! I think I'm just hungry....
I really like their tikka masala. The prices are a bit high though. I heard they raised all their prices after the DDD episode brought all that attention.
Its been years for me and the food was decent if I remember correctly. Nice atmosphere if you are into the English thing. At least it was before...lol
I went to the Red Lion back when it was new several years ago. Still had the best burger I had eaten anywhere (and it was free since my sister worked there are the time).
Mon nights there is burger night and they have burgers (their specialty i guess) on the cheap.. i forget exactly what the price was tho pretty good eats
Guy Fieri is actually a great cook. I have tried several of his recipes and they have always been t***. His reviews are awful. I don't think he knows how to say this food is blah/pitiful/needing/etc. What this world needs is Anthony Bourdain doing the DDD.
They have pretty good fish and chips. Their burgers are really good as well. Normally I just go there for beers
Agreed about his reviews. I watch DDD just to see what places he goes to, because they're not the usual ones TV shows review. His facial expressions/responses are always the same. He takes a bite, dramatically looks around the kitchen and says 'are you kidding me, that is awesome'. He reminds me alot of Rachel Ray's early $40/day shows where she made an exaggerated 'mmmmmm.....' every time she tried something. Bourdain is legit.
Curry Night is great but it's a bit on the expensive side for what you get. Good Fish and Chips as well. Not a bad place to thrown down a couple pints.
I agree that his reviews are ****. We've been to a few places that he's said is awesome and they've all been garbage.
I looked at the menu and it is more expensive than an authentic place actually in London. Don't really see myself paying that much for glorified bar food.
samosas, fish and chips, burgers are good. Good beer selection. They have half price on food during specific days. Crows is a bit older but overall good atmosphere. Not too many places like it in town.
