I only listened at their respective web sites to samples of each song. Make me want to buy a tune from apple. Evanescence: Bring Me To Life. Don't know much about Good Charlotte , only liked Lifestyles of the Rich and the Famous on their most recent album.
Marci's Playground was probably one of the biggest one hit wonders of recent years. Theor song "Sex and Candy" was great, but they never even released anything after that. Another one hit wonder was Chumbawumba with "Tubthumper".
What do yall think of the All American Rejects? I only hear Swing, Swing on the radio. Have to admit, sometimes I have to hear a song a few times before I like it, only listened one time through all the samples listed above.
I like Swing, Swing, but their new song isn't that good. My brother's been listening to them for months, so I've heard a few of their songs. I don't really like punkish stuff though....
Ahhh, yes forgot about Jamariqui(sp?). I used to hate the song because they played it so much. Then, they started playing it less, and I started liking it more. The video was great too.
They dress like Marilyn Manson and play like Blink 182. Not my cup of tea, but then I'm not into the whole pop/punk thing so I'm a little biased. I must admit I like their song Anthem or whatever it's called...only because it's on Madden.
Listen to their song "My Immortal". It's good. It's a power ballad though and sounds nothing like "BMTL".
seems like the record companies wont let one hit wonders be one hit wonders anymore. they keep pumping out the videos and lobbying for airplay even though the follow-up songs are pretty bad excuses for music. in a lot of cases, the first single is bad as well. ehhhh they are really scraping the bottom of the barrel for new bands these days.
The other song that they released off that album was "St. Joe on the School Bus," which personally I liked better than Sex and Candy. It didn't get anywhere near as much air time as Sex and Candy though.
Also listen to "My Last Breath", sounds kind of like BMTL but not. As for the one hit wonder I can think of "The Way" by Fastball (although I did like "Out of my Head) "Leaving Town" by Dexter Freebish "My Own Worst Enemy" by Lit "All the Things She Said" by TATU (although its a bit early to tell)
I agree with everything you said. I am biased too, because I don't like pop/punk, but I think Good Charlotte is the worst band ever. I hate these guys with a passion. In my book, they are a buncha posers. I did like Anthem a little bit(with it being on Madden adn all). I disagree with Dave on Lit. Lit had a couple good songs that got good play, like "My Own Worst Enemy", "Ziploc Bag", "Completely Miserable", and I think they had one other.
Jamiroquai is a one-hit wonder in the US? They've been around since about '92 over here, and they're pretty well-known. Quite a few hit singles, and several big-selling albums.
I agree with you there but they werent as big as I thought they shouldve been. BTW, I think you are thinking about "Over my Head" that was on the Titan AE soundtrack.
The New Radicals "You only get what you give." Semisonic "Closing Time" Nine Days "Absolutely (Story Of A Girl)"
How the heck can you call Evanescence a one hit wonder!?? Their first single to ever chart still hasn't peaked and they haven't released a 2nd single... Duhhh..
