being physical doesn't mean everything either. pj is physical, so is eg.. and they often are just ball watching and not finding a guy to box out once the shot goes up. we have players who are physical and still don't box out... our team rebounding is atrocious and has been for years, even with capela.

also u repeated my point in that the key is instincts, fundamentals, and the will to go get those rebounds.

for anyone who grew up playing competitive ball.. watching some of these players just standing around once the ball goes up instead of boxing ppl out is one of the most frustrating things to see, bc learning how to box out for the rebound is one of the first things u learn. cwood not being physical is one thing.. but for him to not even attempt to box out is the main reason why he is such a poor rebounder. just bc you're slight in frame isn't an excuse to not be physical and box out. hell, if he was boxing out someone and that player tried to push him out or rebound over the top of him, that player would likely be called for a loose ball foul if anything.

Honestly. . . . Only one person should leak out
Everyone else should be looking to be team defensive rebounding.
It may kill some fast break points
    but
it will limit the offensive rebounds and second chance points
This is the second most important thing the Rockets have to get fixes
    First is 3 pt defense.
    Third is 3 pt shooting

Is Aaron Gordon available? I'm totally on board with getting him, I just think we end up giving up a lot for him, and also be forced to take a bad contract to make the salaries match.

    Wingspan matters too.

Only Nwaba of all the wings you list has a wingspan of 7'0.

Tate and House have 6'8 wingspans.

    Brown has 6'10 wingspan.

PJ wingspan has been listed anywhere from 6'10 to 6'11.5.

Perimeter defense (especially three point defense) and rim protection are very important of couse, but defensive rebounding should be one of our highest priorities.

It's one of the best if not the best defensive play in basketball, when you secure a defensive rebound the offensive play ends and you can start attacking.

If you cover the shots but let offensive rebounds happen, you have to exert twice the effort and the entire defensive squence all over again, drastically increasing the chances of getting scored on.

The 65 win 17-18 team had a defensive rebounding percent as top 3 in the league.

We have to focus on becoming elite in that area and top 5 at least in DRB% over the season, average in that metric won't be good enough. High defensive rebound totals need to be looked at as gold within the team, we could use some depth at PF/C there to help as well.

Wingspan and standing reach is more important than height.

Depends on what team you are rooting for.
