since i dont really remember well the championship days of the rockets in 94', 95', i was wondering how yalls reaction would be to a championship...from crying to just sitting there and soaking it all in in disbelief....i know that for sure i would cry, especially to the astros...maybe the feeling wont settle in for couple days....man i cant wait for that feeling...

I was mack dab in the student section at the Rose Bowl in 2006 when we beat USC. Pure euphoria. Hugs, high-fives, jumping up and down, flashbulbs everywhere. It was a total blur. I even shed a few tears. My voice was shot for the rest of the week.

Back in the '94 and '95 Rockets championships, I remember going down to Richmond (14/15 yrs old at the time) and seeing lots of flashing going on. That was some good stuff.

If the Rockets, Astros, or Texans (heh) ever win a championship in my lifetime, there would be tears, dancing, partying, and lots and lots of wild sex.

I would celebrate on Richmond w/ the rest of the City. Just like I did in 1994 and 1995.

Voice would go hoarse from screaming and drinking. Total Euphoria.

Astros - Well, I would be really pumped up on the night that they win, probably a little louder than usual. Then I would spring out of the bed the next day and have one of the best days of the year. The feelings would probably die down over the resulting few days until it's finally just a "good memory." Unless Biggio is still on the team, then I'd probably shed some tears for him.

Rockets - I'd get drunk and spend the next few days bashing Dallas, San Antonio, and maybe the Texans :p

I'm not sure what I'd do. I'd probably phone up everyone I know. Shed a tear for the stros if they win. and just soak it in. (with lots and lots of jumping up and down screaming)

Well I am sure that the Rockets and Texans will win a championship(s).

    Rockets, this current group

Texans, great owner/great structure for wining (one day it might take some time)

Astros, I sure hope they do but it wont be for some time because they did not get it done with that great pitching staff (2004-2006). I will say this with Oswalt and Berkman the Astros just need to add pieces because those are two of the best in baseball.

I would go crazy no matter who won but I think the emotion of the NBA playoffs is crazy. Also baseball playoff games are tense as hell. Super Bowls are for the most part **** games ie. last two seasons.

So you admit the Astros still have two of the best pieces in baseball, both relatively young, yet somehow you're sure the Texans will be a championship team and they won't? And won't be for some time? They added a pitcher who ERA-wise was better than Pettitte, and haven't lost Clemens at all yet. They also significantly made their lineup better than it has been in 2005 and 2006. From a talent perspective, if this team can add Clemens in June, they'll have the best team that they've had in this run.

Don't mean to sidetrack the thread, but I'm just a little curious at the optimism for the Texans and pessimism for the Astros.

The Texans will never win a Super Bowl in any of our lifetimes.

So not only can we accurately and fully predict the careers of Bob McNair, Rick Smith, Gary Kubiak, Vince Young, Mario Williams and others for the next 15 years, but we can accurately predict who the future owners, general managers, coaches and players of the Texans will be in our lifetimes, many of which either haven't been born yet or are little kids right now?

That's amazing. I wish more of us had your gift.

Jumping screaming those sort of thing. And after the first 15 minutes have passed just sit down and let it soak in.

I hope I'm at the clinching game.

And if I'm not, I'll be hammered watching it with a bunch of people...and, if UT's championship was any indication, I'll be long-jumping coffee tables.

'94 and '95 were more mellow cause I was younger...just jumping and screaming at home. And making sure I got it all recorded ;)

lol...the first thing i said to myself before i opened this thread, "it won't take long before someone turns this into a Texans bashing thread." so predictable.

i guess the stats don't lie. every team ever assembled has won a championship in their first 5 years of existence. hell, even within 20 years. oh wait, you mean that's not the case?

I concur, macalu. Freakin' pessimists can all DIE. That's being optimist right there.

If the Rockets win a championship I imagine I would be up jumping and dancing around.

If the Texas win a championship, I'm guessing it would be the same.

If the Astros win a championship...I will be wrecked. Too much history for me. Too much connection to my family...particulalry to my grandparents who have already passed.

I could totally do the Rockets or Texans championship out and about..at a sports bar. I couldn't do that with the 'stros. I'd need to be at home with my family watching that.
