8 team league. I had first overall pick. Only major scoring quirks are no negatives for fumbles or ints and 5 point bonuses for 300+ yards passing and 100+ yards rushing/receiving. No TE spot either, just 3 W/T flex positions. 1. (1) Adrian Peterson 2. (16) Tom Brady 3. (17) Calvin Johnson 4. (32) Ryan Grant 5. (33) Anquan Boldin 6. (48) LenDale White 7. (49) Jason Witten 8. (64) New York Giants 9. (65) Santana Moss 10. (80) Derrick Ward 11. (81) Donnie Avery 12. (96) Donovan McNabb 13. (97) Lance Moore 14. (112) Kris Brown A few of the players left on the waiver wire are Jamal Lewis, Ray Rice, Ernest Graham, Chris Henry, Owen Daniels and Chris Chambers... all of whom I am eyeing as additions later on.
I think so too, but I also I also think McLain + McGahee > Graham + Williams.... I went with the guy who had less competition.
While I agree that Rice is in no way going to hoard the carries in Baltimore, I have to agree with moestavern19 after reading that Ward-Graham-Cadillac will be involved in a 2-2-1 split in carries in Tampa. http://blogs.tampabay.com/bucs/2009...caneers-running-back-rotation-will-work-.html
Second and final draft... 10 team... no bonuses... with negative points... same roster spots. 1. (6) DeAngelo Williams 2. (15) Larry Fitzgerald 3. (26) Tom Brady 4. (35) Calvin Johnson 5. (46) Terrell Owens 6. (55) LenDale White 7. (66) Chad Ochocinco 8. (75) Jonathan Stewart 9. (86) Joseph Addai 10. (95) Chicago 11. (106) Donovan McNabb 12. (115) Donald Brown 13. (126) Ryan Longwell 14. (135) Chris Henry I handcuffed DW and JS together, along with Addai and Brown, and even Ocho and Henry...
10 team league, #6 pick. 1. Larry Fitzgerald 2. DeAngelo Williams 3. Clinton Portis 4. Dwayne Bowe 5. Ryan Grant 6. Matt Schaub 7. Owen Daniels 8. Anthony Gonzalez 9. Joseph Addai 10. Philadelphia Defense (picked on mistake, wanted Jets) 11. Devin Hester 12. Domenik Hixon 13. Joe Flacco 14. Jets Defense 15. John Kasay
If I were you I'd trade Portis and Gonzalez/Hester for a better 3rd reciever (Boldin, Colston, Welker).... Addai should be a serviceable 3rd RB.
So far all I've been told is that Ray Rice is better than Derrick Ward. I'm a little disappointed in this boards fantasy analysis skills.
I personally think Gonzalez is gonna have a breaout year and I'm willing to roll the dice as my 3rd WR. I agree about Addai but I'd would like to keep Portis in my RB core since Grant can be inconsistent at times. As far as Rice vs. Ward, I tried to stay away from RBBC. While most teams are using 2 backs now, both Baltimore and Bucs are likely to use 3 (now that Cadillac is back). Both Rice/Ward are going to lose TDs to McClain/Grahm as goal line backs. I'd actually go with Jamal Lewis if I were you. He's a feature back and will be their guy on the goal line.
So try to package one of your RBs with Hester then. At worst, you could score a nice insurance policy. Everything I've read about Jamal Lewis says he's basically a ghost the player he used to be and is pretty much ready to be supplanted at any moment. even by a UDFA. I feel ok with Rice or Ward for the moment, eventually those RBBCs turn into hospital wards and someone has to pick up the slack, you just have to hope it is your guy.
10 team PPR league. Had the worst pick (#6). 1. (6) Steven Jackson 2. (15) Andre Johnson 3. (26) Peyton Manning 4. (35) Jason Witten 5. (46) Joseph Addai 6. (55) Chad Ochocinco 7. (66) Beanie Wells 8. (75) Baltimore 9. (86) Lance Moore 10. (95) Darren McFadden 11. (106) Torry Holt 12. (115) Tim Hightower 13. (126) Ted Ginn Jr. 14. (135) Matt Hasselbeck 15. (146) Nick Folk
Just had our draft earlier today. QBs: Donovan McNabb, Brett Favre RBs: Steven Jackson, Brian Westbrook, Felix Jones, Ladell Betts WRs: Marques Colston, Antonio Bryant, Darrius Heyward-Bey, Devin Thomas, Brandon Marshall TEs: Dallas Clark, Brent Celek DEFs: Minnesota, Carolina K: Rob Bironas NOTES: This is a 12 team leaue. There was a premium on wide receivers in the early rounds as Fitzgerald, Moss, and the two Johnson went in the first. I got back up for every position except kicker but I figure I can do that when the time rolls around. Brandon Marshall fell all the way to round 12 and I had to snatch him there. Really wish my running backs were better but alas. Where do I need to improve?
I took my second team and compared where I drafted them (left number) to their average draft position on Yahoo! (right number) and totalled up the difference (+/- number)... Pretty interesting. Round / Draft Position / Player / ADP / Differential 1. (6) DeAngelo Williams 7.4 (-1.4) 2. (15) Larry Fitzgerald 8 (+7) 3. (26) Tom Brady 16 (+10) 4. (35) Calvin Johnson 21.2 (+13.8) 5. (46) Terrell Owens 32.2 (+13.8) 6. (55) LenDale White 84.1 (-29.1) 7. (66) Chad Ochocinco 49.3 (+16.7) 8. (75) Jonathan Stewart 85.7 (-10.7) 9. (86) Joseph Addai 71.4 (+14.6) 10. (95) Chicago 85.4 (+9.6) 11. (106) Donovan McNabb 47.5 (+58.5) 12. (115) Donald Brown 118.6 (-3.6) 13. (126) Ryan Longwell 89.9 (+36.1) 14. (135) Chris Henry 121.2 (+13.8) A higher differential indicates a "value" pick while a lower number indicates a "reach" pick. McNabb, Calvin Johnson, and T.O. were total steals for me... while I overpaid for LenDale White and Stewart. Total Differential: +149.1
Its just that your team is so normal looking. This is what we usually get around here when people post their teams...
8 team PPR league (my westbrook and Addai picks are questionable, I'm torn) 1. (4) Brian Westbrook 2. (13) Andre Johnson 3. (20) Calvin Johnson 4. (29) Marques Colston 5. (36) Joseph Addai 6. (45) Reggie Bush 7. (52) Matt Schaub 8. (61) Donovan McNabb 9. (68) Willie Parker 10. (77) Kellen Winslow 11. (84) Anthony Gonzalez 12. (93) Felix Jones 13. (100) Devin Hester 14. (109) San Diego 15. (116) Jason Elam
Not sure I would have taken Westbrook that high. I took him but it was the 3rd round. I have a bad feeling about him this year.
