there was a show about him on the history channel a couple of weeks ago. apparently, they fed him some cake laced with poison, shot him a few times, and beat him severely. then, they tied him up and threw him in the water thinking he was dead. but when his body was discovered, they realized he was still alive when they threw him in the water. he had tried to get free from the rope that was tying him up. this just added to rasputin's legend...
