Thanks. I think Jag said it the best. I cannot think of a fault in any of his arguments, they say it all. As for Haven...we can argue which team is better till were blue in the face, but the bottom line is we'll never agree. We're all homers, and it is our right..., no it is our DUTY to claim our own teams superiourity 24/7. However, I must revert to Jag's argument. You MUST agree that it is far easier to get to the finals through the Knicks, Sixers, Hornets and Bucks than through the Lakers, Spurs, Kings and Dallas. ------------------
Raptor, first and foremost, your owner must not be concerned abount the luxury cap. In addition, you have under estimated the word "CHEMISTRY", which means learning Hakeem's game and Hakeem learning everyone elses game. Vince is able to fly to the basketball, due to your hole in the middle, if Dream occupies that hole, where does Vince fly. Plus he's marshmellow soft and Cuttino lights him up like a Christmas tree. Once again, Dream is pimping Canada for more cheese from the Rockets, this will not happen, I think the organization is ready to move forward, please send your private jet for him. With Hakeem, your wins will increase and you will go out in the playoffs in the same round 2nd. If that makes you happy go ahead sell your future for the past. ------------------ Let go and let GOD!
Ok, I'll say it again REAL slow this time! Montross isn't an effective C but he can still give us 10-15 minutes a night while platooning with Brian Skinner(very underrated and has great numbers against east teams) and Keon Clark. Who are the Rockets gonna get as their C? If they re-sign, the Rockets can get nobody with no cap space. Marc Jackson? IMPOSSIBLE. He's restricted and you'd have to sign an offer sheet with your exception. Golden State would match this and retain him. This why it is almost a lock for him to go to Seattle because they can blow all their 6 million in space for him. Forget Marc Jackson. On the fanhome.com Raptor board, we worked out whether or not the Raptors could get Marc Jackson and it's impossible for any team other than Seattle or Detroit basically. Keon is way beyond Kelvin Cato... Oh man... Also, if he's not much better, why do you want him in a S&T? And I meant getting traded in a PACKAGE for a star player. A PACKAGE. Yes, the rest of our roster basically is signed to the minimum! I'm saying a whole team salary of 50 million. The luxury tax threshold goes up every year... What's the problem? If Hakeem wanted to stay in Houston for less pay, he would've re-signed by now. It's probably not about money though, Dream just wants to feel he's needed and he MAY find that somewhere other than Houston! That's what I've been saying! Wanna know why Toronto has leverage? We're offering Dream a straight up contract that he can sign without a S&T. Houston doesn't wanna pay as much as we do because they can't get all three of their other FAs. Indy can't use their 4.5 million exception because it will put them into the luxury tax!!! That's why they didn't sign Mark Jackson. NY can only work a sign and trade or give him the 1 million exception. Toronto is the only team that can offer him the money flat out for him to take. Keon played and did well in the NY series but did poorly in the Philly series. He's not a good rebounder and Mutumbo killed him in that category. btw- Don't diss the Raps because they might take Hakeem, ok? ------------------
Flutie, rappak:Nice to have other team's fans post here, welcome.I must say you're nuts if you think the rockets will suffer from dream balking. We thought he was retiring this year so there's no loss,I dont want to see him in an other uniform but the sadness will go away when the catomic bomb explodes (Ask me later) Ps:I feel this "(Ask me later)" will fade into history as an other BBS signature, just as the "maybe, maybe no" ------------------ Bigamy is having one wife too many.Monogamy is the same
Personally i would rather see Hakeem end his playing dayz with the Raptors than the Rockets...he'd be in a weaker conf...where he would not have to guard any great offensive threats...Hakeem has slowed down more so at the defensive end rather than offensive...this would make the Raptors better and Hakeem more effective...i would rather see him end on a high note, where he might get to go to the finals again...rather than a rebuilding process...and the Raptors "right now" do have a better team than the Rockets...personal opinion there...for Hakeems sake i would'nt mind see Hakeem go to the Raptors...he's done all he could do for the Rockets it's time he helps where he might actually make a difference. ------------------ <<..........>>
If we lose Hakeem, why is it impossible for us to sign Marc Jackson? We will be able to offer him just as much, if not more than Seattle can with our cap room that comes when Dream comes off the books, especially if we don't resign Shandon. ------------------
Its impossible for Raptors fans to have "worked out whether or not the Raptors could get Marc Jackson and it's impossible for any team other than Seattle or Detroit basically". You don't know what existing free agents are going demand - especially in Houston. To say that the Rockets can't clear cap room for a free agent like Jackson means that you believe that Taylor and Anderson's contracts would take up the entire void left by Hakeem's old contract. I really doubt that will happen. ------------------ I'm so amazingly cool you could keep a side of meat in me for a month. I am so hip that I have difficulty seeing over my pelvis.
It appears Flutie turned his computer off for the day because Toronto had a bad electrical storm and he doesn't want a surge to destroy it. People have lives outside the net, you know. AD and Alvin are NOT roleplayers. As a starter, Alvin Williams avged 9.1 assists per game. That's over half a season btw. He also had an assist to turnover ratio of 5:1, which is by far the best in the league. Antonio Davis made the all-star team. Role players do not make the all-star team. I hate to tell you but Alvin Williams stellar play at the PG was a huge reason why we went to the next level. He plays stellar D, scores when he gets the shots, racks up assists and never turns the ball over. He's everything you want in a PG. So a role player is someone who is not a star? That's kinda silly. btw- Crisco, I never said Williams is a star. You're just putting words in my mouth. I don't give a flying **** how the Rockets did against the East. All that proves is that the Rockets are built for Eastern Conference ball and not for the West. If the Rockets have 6 million in cap room after re-signing all their FAs then they could very well get Jackson. But if they were to have that much cap room, they'd give it to Hakeem and he'd stay. btw- Who won the all-star game? How'd all those big men do? Right, that was AD, Mutumbo and Mason holding their own. Who cares how "weak" the east is, all that matters is that the top teams in the east will probably make it to the finals and a "better" western team like the Rockets won't. Not dissing your team, it's just the truth. Jeez, Clark wouldn't play C in the west... He'd probably be a SF or PF. Get to know your players, guys. Things you should know about Keon Clark: -Supreme shotblocker -Unstoppable when jumper is falling -When plays inspired, he is the best player on the floor Keon could honestly be a superstar if he worked on his game a bit more and played with more intensity. He has a weak jumper but that can be worked on in the offseason(AD did it). I'm really not overrating him either. I've seen him since college and he has that Vince Carter/Steve Francis type potential. He's just lazy, I guess. btw- What's the history of Hakeem's injuries over these past few years? I remember the circulation problem last year but did he have any wonky knee problems, hammys or the like? ------------------
