Wasnt even the best mixtape today haha.. http://www.datpiff.com/Talib-Kweli-Z-Trip-Attack-The-Block-mixtape.389953.html
that line was sick anyway, i do hate when these threads turn into who can name the most obscure act, but some of those underground acts are really talented. yung-t, that post with the roots, black star, tribe, etc. took me back. i used to try to listen to all types, i listened to gangsta and backpack for lack of a better name. i want to check out nas's latest because of this thread. i don't have time to listen to a lot but even being older i don't have a problem with the rick ross/meek mills acts of the world. lil wayne is a bit overrated by his fans but i like it. big sean is nice, i don't give a damn what he raps about and so is drake. if you don't feel drake's style of everyday male type dreams, no drug dealing or philosophizing just everyday life type style then you're not paying attention. and i hope jay and ye collaborate more often.

the new nas is nice. one of the things i always liked about nas besides him being top five lyracist of alltime is how he stays true to his queens roots. queens rappers always have this old school distorted static with high pitched tones in the background. i remember watching alchemist on an interview speaking specifically about it one day. he said it sounds like the streets. going back to the m.c. shan days <iframe width="420" height="315" src="http://www.youtube.com/embed/3LmJgHqgSPQ" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe>
I thought drake was pretty good when he first came out.... the "so far gone" mixtape was soo good. THen his music just began to drop slowly ........

lol this. He's got a great deal substance, but it's going to take more than a couple sequels to a song.
