There are 2 blacks and 1 mexican in a car......Who's driving?

The Police........HAHAHAHA!! Stop being so sensitive man. I hear you man, but I dont feel you. Now if they described the men using the 'N' word or 'S' word, then I would get upset.
P.S. Im hispanic, so dont get all sensitive on me because of the joke ;)

    LP...

I don't think it's an absolute. I am sure that some people use the racial qualifier as a means of underlying their own bigoted view, and I am sure others use it as a noticeable physical descriptive aspect, like 'tall', etc.

Making any kind of evaluation based on race is racist, noting race is not. Otherwise, you might well ask why the cashier felt the need to identify the gender of the assailants.

    unfortunately
the result of such race based descriptions
is that the DEFAULT view of criminality is minority
    esp for various crimes

sort of a profiling in the mind

i mean hell some crimes have a white person default
if someone one does something outlandish and crazy
alot of folx view some middle aged nerdy white dude
    i.e. hinkley, unibomber, dahmer, manson,
    or dudette
susan smith, andrea yates, this chick the guys think is hot in that stabbed her husband 193 times

but in the end it is a disservice to all
it imo allows some criminals to slip and slide because it hits
a I NEVER THOUGHT blah blah blah would do that
[see the snipers . . .WHO KNEW THEY WERE BLACKS
cause that was not considered a BLACK crime]

see Embezzling and other WHITE COLLAR crimes

White polo collars should automatically be considered crimes!
    Just for you Rocket Haiku...

    Heinous, a poem by B-Bob

    Not a polo shirt,
    Their collars always blind me.
    Not bright, but ugly.

I don't think its necessary a problem to describe the ethnicity of someone committing a crime because that is an important part of the description of it especially if the suspects are still at large.

What is a problem is when people automatically presume a crime was committed by someone of a particularly ethnicity. Like the cashier who presumed the Jonesboro shooting was done by blacks.

For the record more crime is committed by whites in this country but more people will readily believe a minority committed any random crime, particularly a violent one in an urban setting. Like the case of Susan Smith and that guy in Boston who killed his wife. Both of them white tried to cover up their crimes by saying a black committed it and for awhile widely believed.

And why were you using two names in the first place?

Are you also behind some more names?

I hate it when that happens...

For example, yesterday, I'm in supervisor training and we had to do some role playing...

one of seven examples mention..."A Black, 55-year old women has been coming late to work, etc."...

WTF!!!None of the other examples had white, black, hispanic, asian, etc...

    That is just idiotic...

Perhaps their goal was to see if you subconsciously did anything different knowing that she was black.

That sounds like the kind of sensitivity training that is typical in large companies. You have to show that you will treat people the same reguardless of their race, gender, religion, etc. so the company doesn't get sued.
