According to the NBA and himself and his coach doc rivers, he isnt a dirty player yet he keeps on getting away with obvious flagrant fouls and not getting suspended for them. Now this is bull****
yeah, obviously his teammates not gonna call him dirty, but he's a very dirty player, just like many of his teammates
Rondo is a cheap shot artist; Bruce Bowen is dirty. there is a difference. ps. Kobe, great as he is, is not even the greatest LA Lakers ever. ever heard of Magic Johnson, Kareem abdul-Jabbar or Jerry West ?
or Shaq. To answer the original question. Yes, he is dirty. What I find hilarious about the group of the thugs that is the Boston Celtics is how ridiculous Doc Rivers looks coaching them now that they have gone "prison ball" in the playoffs. He is now spending half the game trying to downplay the dirty, cheap tactics from his players. He looks like a buffoon crying and now laughing in an attempt to divert attention away from what his players are doing on the court. He reminds me of a really bad defense attorney trying to defend a murderer when there is DNA evidence, witnesses and an HD video feed of the guy committing the murder. I'm sure he is hoping KG comes back healthy next season so he can resume the coaching responsibilities for the team.
Geez, somehow every other post you mention how great Kobe is, or he's better than Jordan no matter what the topic. What are you, 14? Back to the thread, Rondo is balling, but he's dirty. He should've been thrown out TWICE this series. What a travesty. Especially after last year's Suns/Spurs suspensions. Stern doesn't have much ground to stand on when he fines coaches and players speaking out about the officiating, and yet this stuff gets a free pass.
I just find it odd how he's not been suspended after a flagrant foul and a should-have-been flagrant foul. It's just...odd.
of greater interest is how the hell did rondo become good? i remember someone in the ABC studio joking that "you know there's a problem when your team is better when you're not on the floor". it was practically a consensus that they were better with eddie house because teams just laid off rondo. fast forward to this year and he's in the running for an all-star spot the first half of the season and is averaging a triple double in the playoffs. what the hell?
How the hell is kobe better? LOL Go compare their PER or their stats by year or there stats by career and Jordan beats him in EVERY possible way. It's not even close. You really must be delusional. Hell even your own head coach would say Jordan is better than Kobe (if he was forced to answer that question)
LMAO!!! wait wait. . . Jordon is better than Magic and Kareen . .. and . . .Kobe is better than Jordon??? Rocket River my goodness that is funny for the record as much as I hate him . . . Magic Johnson is probably the best basketball player of all time By far one of the most diverse players to ever play the game. Could play all 5 positions. .. WELL
I know I saw how good Rondo was early one. I don't know why people were dogging on him so much. imo, I think it was just a bandwagon bash sort of thing. Once the media gets a hold of a bone they don't usually let it go. Remember the media hoping for a negative spin on the Landry shooting?
I can't say I've watched the guy a whole lot in the regular season, but judging from the smug look on his face after he's been getting away with these fouls in the playoffs I'd say yeah. Which is a shame. Play the game the right way. I know there's the whole "little guy" complex and that you have something to prove , blah blah blah but play the game the right way.
With all due respect, sir, you are a joke and the perfect example of what the "grammar thread" in Hangout was addressing.
Dirty player isn't the right description. Thug is more like it. Dirty players tend to try and fly under the radar to not get caught by the refs. Thugs just go ahead and express their dissatisfaction with Brad Miller's driving abilities and/or Kirk Hinrich's aerial aspirations without a care.
I didn't pay much attention to Rondo until the beginning of last season. I was impressed enough to think he was their 3rd most important player after PP & KG because Ray Allen wasn't doing much but showing his age. It made me laugh when people trashed him in the GARM as being worse than Rafer (this happened as recently as this season, believe it or not). I'll have to admit his performance in the Finals didn't do him any good. He's made another step forward this year and it remains to be seen how good he can be.
