Layed by the pool all day and decided to wash/wax the car then grill a few steaks. Not 5 minutes after the grill was shut down the friggin' mother of all thunderstorms rolled in. Jeebus lightening, flooded roads AGAIN, and zero power for over an hour. Awesome. Expect more rain tomorrow as I'll be washing the car, again. That's how mother nature rolls.

The weather's fine.
not as bad as you think. houston gets more rain in june than any other month on this chart these are averages taken from weather.com
And hence my increasing dissapointment with living in the city. The weather is really really horrible, and keeps getting worse! In the summer, it is either deathly hot, or a deluge of rain. In the winter, hey, at least it ain't freezing, right?? Except, it's not like it's warm. You still don't want to be out by the pool. And there are still plenty of rainy, overcast days. Heck, at least if it was freezing, there'd be more winter activity options (skiing, ice skating, pissing in the snow). Pacific Northwest gets a lot of rain, true, but not in the summer, when for 3 or 4 months of the year it is some of the best weather you'll find. Not that I'm moving to the Pacific Northwest or anything, but I am going to, eventually, leave Houston...
The places with the best weather cost more. Houston's weather isn't the greatest, unless you enjoy sauna-like heat, but I'm able to own a home here. Other places I might not be able to own a home. This city is no tourist destination, but it is a pretty good place to live. Additionally, no matter where you live, you're going to be dealing with something, Mother Nature-wise....blizzards, floods, earthquakes, hurricanes, tornados, stifling heat.
Aww, sucks to be you guys. I got just got back today from a 7 day cruise and missed all the rain fun. It was just clear blue sky and frozen beverages all week for me. Sorry I missed it!
Who the hell with? (actually, I shouldn't ask, since I know your ex. But I thought you decided to chill for a bit?)
its all the construction. but it hasn't been as much of a problem considering the amount of rain this past month. alot of drainage projects are problem completed. almost all the street construction downtown is complete.
I agree with you for the most part. Though, I think there are plenty of other places where you can own a home, and are great places to live, with different weather - some better, some worse. I've still got my sights set on Colorado one day...300+ days of sunshine a year, winter season still with plenty of outdoor activities, plenty of microbreweries...can't go wrong! will never desert the Rockets, though
Long story that she could fill you in on. But basically I broke up with the girl I was dating literally 4 days before we were set to leave on the cruise with my entire family. I had already paid for it, and it was too late to find anyone else, so she still went. We had a decent time all things considered, but we're still done, I'm 100% sure. Oh, and I may go up to Pub tonight so maybe see ya there?
