rafer "skip to my leiu" alston? of rucker park fame? [IMG]

seriously, i don't think there are many teams looking at rafer. plus, milwaukee will need someone to pick up the minutes lindsey hunter left behind. rafer should be that man.

the only team i've heard that has considered rafer so far is chicago.

Shandon--while Rafer might be brought back by Milwaukee, the Bucks' official position on "Lindsey Hunter minutes" is that most of those will go to Michael Redd, who is playing very well in the summer leagues right now. Look for Tim Thomas to actually get some minutes in the backcourt as well.

dont you be rolling your eyes about rafer
hes a solid backup pg, just because hes a playground player doesnt mean he sucks in the league
he averaged 8 assists per 48min...thats not bad at all
i hear michael redd would get lindsey hunters minutes now due to summer league, since rafer is playing in the EBC, but who knows???

You know Sean Colson averages 10.9 assists/48 minutes, that must mean he's really good huh?

yeah alston's just a playground legend that hasn't done jack in the NBA

    and what...he can't shoot...hahaha

I'll give him credit though, he has improved from his rookie season, his FG% skyrocketed from 28% to 31.8%.

I also thought I'd do some additional research on this free agent. Apparently he pled no contest to a misdemeanor battery charge, and what exactly did he do? He beat up his ex-girlfriend, sounds like a nice guy. He's also been charged multiple times for choking his neighbor and beating up another neighbor. I mean Penny and Kidd get away with such acts b/c they've actually done something in the league. All Raefer has going is a Nike commercial.

Maybe he could join the Globetrotters?

Does Raefer know the "Bucket of Confetti" trick?

wow pete rose is a funny guy
im glad that the research you did had NOTHING to do with his basketball skills
i never said he wasnt ghetto, at least he didnt rape a 14 yr old like someone....
also dont put bs facts up like sean colson averaging 10 assists per 48, his career high is SIX
youre one of those dumbasses who thing just because someone is a playground legend doesnt mean they cant play
some 18 year old kid dropped 35 on vince carter
anthony mason refused to guard rafer, stephon marbury got took by him, actually i dont know why im defending him
    ill just resort to namecalling
    youre stupid, stupid, stupid

That would be a true fact. His career high may be 6, but he's never come close to 48 minutes in a game. Either you misunderstood what BGM was saying, or you don't understand math that well. [IMG]

Also, to add one more thing: it doesn't matter who took who. Some playground players are good. I can't tell you how many of those people would just rip people like Steve Kerr apart in a one on one thread. However, the problem is they themselves and some fans think that makes them players who should get time in the NBA. There are basic fundamentals such as shooting, defense, and team play that go into making NBA players. Not all playground legends are like that, but the large majority are. It doesn't matter how good your moves are on the playground if you don't understand team play and basic basketball fundamentals. Just think about it. If Rafer could completely break down guys like Stephon Marbury and Anthony Mason, why does he rarely get to play?

yes i agree..at least you wrote a logical response
i dont know why george karl put lindsey hunter in over rafer, but he actually does have some fundamentals. hes a pass first point guard...not a great shooter, and i think since sam cassell is more of a shooting pg, itd be nice if rafer got to play because he would be a good BACKUP pg.
and again i suggest you read some of the articles about his basketball skills, not his rap sheet

QUESTION TOZAI: If your statement was meant to say that Rafer is good, why does Pete's statement not state that colson is better.

You started the 48 minute stat. . . IMO Pete
just proved that that fact is B.S. Meaningless

Hell it I make one assit in One minute
that does not mean I'm a 48 asst man

I'm telling you man he'd be great for the Globetrotters. Can he do the hide the ball under the jersey trick?

Also the at least he didn't rape a 14 year old is very weak, I guess I can just beat up women as long as I don't rape them huh?

Also what was not logical about the numbers I provided? If he can break down NBA players, then why the hell hasn't he made a name for himself outside of the playground and Nike commercials?

Why would you want a backup PG that can't shoot and hasn't learned the NBA game? He is a flashy playground player and hasn't picked up the NBA style of play yet and may never pick it up.

umm i didnt mean 8 assists per 48 min the way you mean...i mean when george karl actually let him play more than the usual garbage time, he got 8 assists as a career high
a pg doesnt necessarily need to shoot that much especially on a team like the bucks filled with shooters...but yes he does need to learn the nba game, but how will he if he dont get any playing time

hell i can do the ball in shirt trick
anyways im not saying what he did was right...i'm just saying, i told you to look up information and you go focus on what crimes hes committed instead of his skills
he has made a name for himself, all the nba players know who he is,just because you dont doesnt mean ****. dont ask me why george karl doesnt put him in....God the guy thinks darvin ham is a good starter and he SUCKS

I think most NBA players know who everyone is, just b/c players know about Alston, doesn't mean anything.

He's a PG that can do cool tricks with the basketball. Sounds like all style and no substance to me. NBA players that shoot 31% from the field aren't in high demand last time I checked.
