It's likely that if we play Denver we will win game one or two in Denver I mean we lost to them four times... We are due to beat them now.

Don't think we'll be able to take Denver out, but I like our chances against them compared to OKC and San Antonio in a best of 7. SA will out-coach us to death with adjustments and savvy, while OKC will simply out-talent us.

I don't think we'll beat any of those teams in a Playoff series, really. But I do think finishing 6th looks (a bit) more attractive to a potential 2nd star than finishing 7th. So I'd rather go for 6th.

Our team has been playing much much better lately than the early season losses to Denver. People are overly spooked due to this last game. If you remember we were up by double digits early but it was day 2 of a back to back in Denver, our guys got gassed. Also Harden played nothing like his normal self and Parsons was hurt.

If we play them in the first round it goes to 7 games.

Memphis is still within striking distance of the 3rd seed. Denver isn't guaranteed to win out.

    Stop kneejerking.

Nuggets have a losing record away from home and could potentially be without their two best players. Any sane person would want to face them over the Thunder/Spurs.

The opportunity is still there for the 6th so the Rox should go for that spot. I bet the team isn't going around saying "we better start losing some of these games so we don't move up and improve our playoff position", come on... Houston will not be favored against any of the top teams but I feel it's just a losers mentality to tank playoff positioning. Whichever team they play will be a great learning experience. And remember the last time Rox were in playoffs, if I'm not mistaken, they were 0-4 against Lakers in regular season that year and took them to 7 games, the last 4 without Yao. Playoffs is a different season, everyone is 0-0.

Denver is to the current Rockets what the former Seattle Supersonics was to our 1990's squad. Just as before, we just couldn't beat them, until they brought in Barkley.

None of the 4 games we lost to them this year was close, if memory serves. So, all of sudden, we will have that team figured out. It is more than the other way around. The NBA is all about match ups. We match up badly against that team.

I don't see the reasoning behind people who think we can somehow figure it out against a team that has had our number in every way every time this season and is 35-3 over teams that we have at least beat once.

Its not a knee jerk when someone thinks logically...The nuggets swept us this season and play our game better than we do, even last year we only beat them once-yea yea, diff teams completely for both of us.....are we saying that we would get swept in the playoffs...no..I just believe playing the spurs or thunder would be better games for us...particularly the spurs..but unless they lose and thunder win, we wont be seeing them....but honestly, unless iggy and lawson are both out, we really do not stand a chance, they literally out hustle us in our own game..and thats just how it is.

Best possible scenario would be to play an injured Spurs team at the 2v7. However I still do not want to risk seeing Westbrook and KD destroy us in 5 games.

I'll take my chances and play the Nuggets instead of OKC even if that means we forego any chance of playing the (preferred) injured SA Spurs

This is all a moot point since the Rockets are going to be resting players soon, once they clinch the playoffs. The Rockets don't give a damn who they play so much as making sure everyone's healthy as possible

As opposed to seeing Iguodala go Lebron on us and Brewer going Michael Jordan on us? How about Wilson Chandler suddenly becoming Kevin Love? And Andre Miller commanding triple teams like Hakeem in the post against Jeremy Lin even though I hardly recall him scoring a post move on Lin?

When Morey was asked he said he didn't want to provide any bulletin board material for the potential opponent, but he hinted when he said the Spurs might struggle with injury issues.

Arguments here in favor of a Denver matchup are compelling, but Iggy gives Harden fits, they can match our pace, and have a huge home court advantage.

I like the scenario of a 2v7 upset of SA that gives us confidence for an epic showdown with OKC in the second round.

Get everyone healthy and playing well before playoffs. No reason to do something unnatural for playoff position, either tanking games or overplaying starters.

The Nuggets are the only team I truly don't want to play.
