I have some questions. Everyone says Obama is Black becuse his father is black, some would say that because he has minority blood in him, I guess that is fine. Why no one will say Tiger is Asian? Is Asian less than African American in the Us? What about Tiger's kids? They would be half White, quarter Black and quarter Asian, should they be called African Americans? I have so many mixed blood relatives, I am not even sure what to call them. Who defines these rules and why is it that way?
Can you imagine the wave it will cause if Tiger declared he is Asian instead of Black tomorrow? I am just curious why should Asians take a second class stauts to African Americans in these types of matters? Eurasians are often treated as less than Whites, and Blasians are now all classified as Blacks?
If Obama is black because his father is black, then wouldn't logic dictate that Tiger is black because Tiger's father is black?
So you are telling me as long as the father is White or Asian the kid will be classified as White or Asian? Somehow I doubt that is true.
Are you saying that the father's gender trumps the mother's gender? Now we have both a race question and a gender question here.
the history of this country, because it was such a negative to have any black blood in you that if you were 1/64 black, you were legally black during the days of slavery and jim crow.
That was in relation to the Whites. I do not think those WASPs had too high an opion of the Asians either. My question is should Asians take a lesser status to Blacks or Latinos in this country.
why does tiger woods being considered black mean a lessor status for asians? your question is ridiculous, the fact that tiger is considered black is born out of negativity. do you understand that?
Tiger wood is just one example, since he is the most popular case. As far as I know all the kids who have Black parent and Asian parent are classified as African Americans, good or bad. I am just trying to understand why that is the case.
I just told you why it is the case, its the history of this country. let me ask you this, in any far east asian country, if a kid was of black and asian heritage, what would that kid be considered?
