I have no idea what the future holds for McGrady's back. What I do know is that I'd rather suffer through another Lottery season (or two) than suffer through having to watch Iverson in a Rockets' uniform.

Thank you, I think AI is overrated. I remember in one of Webber's first game with Philly, he shot like 6 for 16 or something and that fans booed the hell out of him. Iverson was not booed at all although he had 9 TO's! I know everyone loves him because he is short and all, but I think Mike James could average more points as Iverson and be more efficient if he took that many shots. I don't think he would get Yao involved very much or at least not as much as we would like. He also won't get the other teammates involved although I wouldn't blame him cause our other players wouldn't be that good. I know he has a high assist avg. but that is cause he has the ball 80% of the time. I think the biggest reason I am not a huge fan of Iverson as much lately is because he has budding stars around him like Andre Iguodala. He has 8.4 attempts a game in almost 38 mins/game. I don't know if it is Andre Iguodala's unselfishness or AI's selfishness but that is very strange to me.

You know what I would love to start kissing Tmac's A@# for the next 4-5 years...

But what were saying is are you willing to take a risk? Lets say sure he has 1 great year next year... He is prone for more injuries as he get's older..

Haven't you noticed he doesnt attack the basket like he use too? He has taken more jump shots and get this for the past 3 years his FG and 3pt percentages have dropped?

What are you will to risk? Me I would trade T-mac + Alston for Ai and Korver..

It makes perfect business sense because were not putting all our eggs in 1 year... were putting all our eggs into the next 4 years.. Can T-macs back hold up? Will he drive to the hoop more? Will his FG and 3PT percetange get better? I'm not god but I won't take that chance if I had the oppourtunity to get a decent return....

AI will be broken down in 2 years, he's 31 and has a million miles.

And Tmac only became a jump shooter when his back was injuried. Doesn't anyone remember the Dallas playoff series and how often Tmac took it to the rim.

If he is health and has strengthen his back this off season, he will be back to his driving form again.

I much rather go to war with T-mac than with AI for a ton of reasons. One that hasn't been pointed out is that if AI was on this team, he would probably stunt Yao's growth as an offensive player.

When AI went to the finals with Deke, Deke was hardly an offensive force. AI takes up too much of the offense.

T-mac's our guy and one bad year doesn't change my mind

There is no way you trade TMac for a guy who has as many miles as Iverson. It's an injury risk who is a better all around player and is taller v. a little guy with guts but a terrible shooting percentage and years of taking shots on his little body. No way.

Incredibly, Bucher feels that we didn't get a**raped by the Logo - yes, our own CD was the one who was doing the a**raping. Yea, hard to believe, isn't it?

AI is getting better and better with age. McGrady is losing it little by little. I wouldn't trade McGrady for AI, but I wouldn't trade AI for McGrady either.

    Thats my point.

AI has played only one more season that Tmac in the NBA, but minutes wise has played almost two more complete regular seasons.

If I were going to guess who would have the longer career at this point, I would guess that Tmac would (given his lower age and much less wear and tear than AI)

Wouldn't you want to bet on the guy without the bad back? AI, despite playing more than T-Mac, has a healthy back.

exactly. best post in this thread. it would just be hard to give up on mcgrady's talent, but if it was up to philly, why would take a chance on a guy with back problems, unless you were dumping trash contracts.

no one is gonna give up their star for mcgrady until they see how this upcoming season plays out
