To make a long story short, I need about 2000 miles to qualify for Gold status on US air. I have to get this by the end of the year. So I'm going to take a quick weekend vacation somewhere this weekend. If you guys had to go somewhere for a weekend, where would you go? What would you do? Keep in mind that I live in Arizona and go to Vegas and Southern Cal ALL the time, so not going there, plus thats only 500 miles one way. I'm thinking about going to New York, Boston, or maybe San Fran. I'm leaning towards Boston and getting a ticket for the Patriots game just to say I saw them play during their undefeated season. What do you guys think? What would you do?
What do you like to do? Drink? New Orleans - The best weekend you won't remember Golf? Jacksonville/Ponta Vedre Scuba? The V. I. The weather is sort of sucking for the Midwest and Northeast.
San Francisco - Napa Valley area is great. Vermont - Do a skiing weekend New Orleans - Gambling/drink and food Cancun - Beach stuff Good luck. DD
One year ago this coming weekend, my wife and I went here: http://www.wyndham.com/hotels/ZLOGB/main.wnt We had a blast. The hotel is beautiful, the food was good, and it was totally laid back. In fact, Evander Holyfield and his entourage were on our plane, and sometimes it felt like we were the only people there........except for the Saturday when they were filming the bikini shoot at the hotel. Really, really, REALLY enjoyed it......but it may not be to everyone's liking. Not a lot of nightlife that we could tell. The town across the bay (you take a little boat ride across......it goes back and forth like every two or three minutes for a dollar or two) was small, but had some really good hole in the wall food places. There was a nice guy there (we still have his name and number) who took us out in his "panga" (a smaller fishing boat......24 feet, completely open), and I caught a nice sailfish within easy sight of the shore. Caught several Dorado as well. We had so much fun (and it was cheap....a couple hundred bucks for the day) that we had him take us to some mangroves and snorkling the next day. That next day, he also took us to some out of the way beach where they cooked the dorado for us and made us a platter of ceviche that must have weighed ten pounds. Great trip all around.........we're sad we won't be there this year.
BTW, if I was single and I could go to one place in the US - it would be during the Coachella Festival in CA. I can't remember when that takes place (I think it is late spring) but they always have some great music acts performing.
I think FattyFat is NOT a b*stard...He's just misunderstood...oh wait... Catching a new england game is a good idea, lots of miles...But you'd have to see Tom Douche and co in the freezing cold... I would also suggest Miami...
I hate New Orleans. I'm going to NYC, I'm in the christmas spirit and want to go somewhere cold & decorated. Plus I have a friend there that I can stay with. Ah its nice to be single and free, I can just up and go wherever I want for a spontaneous weekend trip.
